This, these are on a different level. You will need a power amp to get them to perform to their best.

Would a Denon X3500H be enough? Also, are they bright?

I am the original poster. I have the Polk Lsim703 and really like them. I ordered the NHT set and will compare them on Monday when they arrive.( I anticipate that the sale wont last until however. )
The C-3 set was very highly reviewed in the Audiophile circles and on audio forums. They are not as well know of a brand for many slick-dealers. I have no idea why some people have voted thumbs down with no comments about why - NHT is a well respected brand in its entirety and this is a great price for these speakers. Oh, well let people fight for the sonic light elsewhere...

My understanding is that they are not "bright", however they are detailed, fairly revealing and contemporary in sound signature (not "warm", but "accurate") I'll find out myself Monday.

I looked an that receiver is 110wpc, that would do OK, Id try for more close to their 150 watt RMS rating. They are not very sensitive. They are not what I would call bright, but they do have that metallic tweeter quality to them that is very revealing in the mids and highs.

Our neighbor has these powered by an Emotiva amp,Ive heard them play numerous times. He uses them as a 2.0 music setup.

Looks like regular price is ~ $330 on Amazon so this is a good deal but they have been this low before.

Slickdeals has become a joke, as has their thread rating system.....unless its a P-r-i-c-e mistake or something that is practically free most threads are down-voted.
To put it bluntly in Trump-speak, Slickdeals has a lot of low-IQ voters who don't know what a winning thread is. We like winning very much. laugh out loud

Yeah, all metal drivers. Can't imagine they'd be all that easy to drive, and, to be honest, metal-dome tweeters kind of scare me. But you don't know till you hear them in person, right? How is the soundstage, btw?

Why do metal dome tweeters scare you? Many fantastic systems use them well, including some of the best speakers made. The sound from them varies a ton and should not automatically dismissed. Cloth, nylon domes can be very harsh and are not asmooth automatically, although often good ones are.

They just arrived. Today I am super busy assembling 3 new bikes for my family. I did get to listen to a few tracks quickly. First impression is very, very favorable. Smooth sound, smooth trebble, robust layering and acurate mids, lighter on bass than some tho it appears very tight with no worry of port noise (I hate port noises and the bass May fill out a bit when the spider and surround relax) Obviously I need to listen much more for anything I say to mean anything. I am going to break them in over the next couple days and Thursday my GF and I will take a few hours and compare with the lsim703 and few other speakers we have at home.

NHT makes great stuff.

I currently run the Classic Threes (previous generation) as fronts in a 5.1 and they sound awesome in both home theater and music.

Neutral, detailed and excellent imaging. They just need some power to drive.

The C3's are suppose to measure better than the Classic Threes, so I would blindly recommend these, especially at this price point.
