Really good deal, own this. Like it overall, nice for portable option or smaller fires. Have cooked brats and what not really fast on it. The fan isn't loud unless you have it cranked to max.

Battery last a long time.

Only con I have is it's not super easy to clean out

I've been reading about rust and paint issues. Have you had either of those?

Price should be 159.99 in title as that's the price. Would have bought if was 109 but the GC isn't like cash unless you buy from site often enough

That's how all deals with gc are.

Also, I just got my gift card and was surprised to see it came from optics planet.com. So I believe you can use it there as well.

Seems like a legit deal if you're already stocking up on some camping items and can use the $50 GC right away. If not, Moosejaw (Free 2-Day Shipping) and REI (free Ship to Store) have this for $150. Makes me wish I hadn't alienated all my friends, looks like a fun portable fire pit Smilie I did read a review that mentions it comes with a carrying case that's nicer than the "solar" carrying bag BioLite also sells. That's as far as I got. Crackle crackle, campers.

I actually found the moosejaw deal first but only posted this deal because I figured it was superior. Free shopping, and I think most would consider $50 gc preferable to $10 more off.

I got the first batch and there were some spots in the mesh that were poorly enamaled. I emailed biolite and they sent me a whole new body. I've continued using the first one, and I run it hard for 6 or so hours every other weekend through the winter. It hasn't rusted yet, but the enamel has worn down in some areas. I don't baby it, but I always cover it and try to keep it away from rain.
Fact is, anything that has that kind of heat will that eventually, and how you take care of it determines how soon the rust will come.

I had one from the REI deal. It's a cool concept, but ultimately I returned it.
1.) The fan was a bit noisy for us.
2.) The battery would get hot being next to the fire... Seemed like a super bad idea.
3.) Still a reasonable amount of smoke produced despite claims on the box.
4.) Wood has to be smaller than 16".
5.) Not the easiest clean out, but manageable.
Went with a Solo stove because it checked more boxes.

I have this. Really like it. Starting fires is super easy and no smoke. Battery life is forever, don't need to worry about that. It also doubles as a battery pack for your gadgets. Bought the solar cover and love it. Leave it on our patio and it is always charged and ready to go. Have seen a little discoloration due to heat from the fire, but it's acceptable. Only wish it was a bit bigger and could accommodate bigger logs vs more branches and sticks.

No it's not. Being forced to purchase more stuff to get the full value out of a promotion is entirely different than getting cash back or just paying less up front.

Reviews on Amazon kill it for me. Seems like a cool idea but too many people are having issues with the paint and rust.

Gift cards are an interest free loan with a profit margin front loaded. Amazon enjoys over a $B alone, not to mention Starbucks and others.
