Hasn't it been 80 before? Or was that refurbished?

That was a refurbished unit. I've bought a couple of them and they were as good as new too. I see no reason to buy brand new on these if you can find a good refurbished price due to the nature of what they are. I'd always opt for a brand new primary phone or something like that but these just sit there and a refurbished unit is just fine imo.

Did they fix it so when you put it vertical it changes the system OS as well? My understanding is is that you can put it vertical for video calls but once you're done with the call it keeps everything horizontal. It seems like a really simple fix so I don't know what's going on. Bought one for my grandparents so they can stop bitching about me not calling them.

I have two of these I bought as Refurbs for $70. They are great! For new, this is a great price!!!!

The OS doesn't work in portrait mode, only landscape. Portrait mode is only for Google Duo calling unfortunately (which is the biggest downfall of this thing). It also makes an amazing photo display. I also have an Echo Show 2nd Gen. This puts the echo show 2nd gen to shame.

Also, like the Nest/Home Hubs, these have the Auto-Display feature when used in conjunction with the Nest Hello.....which is friggin amazing!!!!

And in darkness, it turns into a really dim full-screen clock, which is also great!

These were cheaper from Walmart about 6 months ago. Both of the two I bought developed audio issues. I cannot play any music on either of mine anymore without major distortion. Both sound like the speakers are damaged. I did get the Walmart warranty on both and might bring them back at some point. They're great otherwise - although they like to randomly dim to almost black frequently enough to be annoying - even in a bright room.

The sound distortion is apparently a common problem with this model - a google search nets tons of them. Just be careful if you buy these to listen to music.

My biggest complaint with mine is the fact I can be right next to it and "ok, google," but no response. But then, it randomly announces things without me activating it.

I got mine new from Walmart for $99. But it was a ymmv find.
