Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sol Ultralight Foam Backpacking Mattress [Regular - 20 X 72 Inches] $33

Normally $44 for the regular size (silver). Drop to $33.

Note that there are two sizes, and different type. The silver one usually runs a couple bucks more, but have better R-value.
I have the klymit static V, but it's not suitable for kids -- they have trouble deflating and getting all the air out. This should be easy setup & cleanup. And then can fold some of the sections as a seat, or for extra cushion.

Cool, btw I notice backpackers on the PCT only use this (or similar), why's that? Inflatables prone to fail?

Closed cell foam provides better warmth for one. Looks like this is for more serious hikers/campers.

These are pretty indestructible. Unless you have a cat that likes to bite the heck out of this thing.... I might get a new one for that reason.

They're also very light and versatile. I've used this to sit on for a quick rest/cooking/eating, got changed on it, put clean clothes on it. They're long enough for 2 people to sit on comfortably.

Thank you both, repped and in 4 1 (15% back w/ Amazon Visa too apparently).

I took to the PCT on a section hike with a 3.5lb inflatable w/ foam, super happy to drop that down to pound with this!

For the PCT specifically, the desert sections are VERY hard on inflatables. I pulled multiple sharp stones and cactus spines out of my foam ridgerest when in the desert. The weight savings are nice, but not much compared to the latest ultralight air core mattresses.

I need a pad, but 20" seems awfully narrow. I'm a stomach sleeper, seems like my elbos would be sticking over this one.

this may be indestructible but comfort is very poor compared to a better inflatable like a klymit. for me i'd buy an comfy ultralight inflatable and put it on this for extra warmth and durability in tough or colder conditions.
