I have a 'clone' of this one, amongst another couple of smaller and larger ones. It's good for a beginner, but should not be flown outside even with a breeze. Inside the house, warehouse, indoor basketball court, outside when there is no wind. Even if you live in an apartment, this is a small drone that can still be lots of fun. When you get a steady hand, try hovering over your wife's head. I practiced on my mother in law and it was hilarious (she is cool like that). Overall, it's a fun toy.

Definitely can't handle much of a breeze. Unless it is under 5 mph, this will likely end up in a neighbor's tree.

I've had 2 of the earlier X5 models (non-FPV) and still consider them the best money I've ever spent on maybe anything (about $30 each). Loads of fun but very tricky for kids to fly. The light weight definitely makes it tough in a breeze, but saying it's impossible is like saying you can't drive a car in the rain. Just be prepared. Also, the motors don't like a lot of heavy usage, so burnout is not uncommon. I've had one motor out of 8 die within a month (between 2 models).

I don't like that the battery looks proprietary now...older models had a very cheap, generic battery that was easy to buy replacements for. Still might pull the trigger.

Headless mode and altitude hold, IMO, make you lazy about piloting. But if it gets kids more involved in trying it out, I won't complain too much...

Happened to me. Bought a replacement...then 2 months later, the first one came down in a storm. Still worked perfectly, but lesson learned about the wind. The durability was amazing, though.

I had 2 of these. First tested on my mother in law head, and she didn't cook for us a whole week. Then my wife played with them for 1 minute. Both of them ended up on the roof of 2 story house.

Have one. Great beginner drone but don't go out with any wind, as this gets blown away quickly.

Any one know which app (android) to use with this one? They have about a dozen versions in the play store... Reading through the comments there appears to be confusion over which one to actually use with this model.

Thanks, was thinking to test the waters, this seems like a good entry level drone for the price. Thanks for the tip about the wind.

I used SYMA FPV, but I have a slightly different SYMA drone.
