Eh, ~25% give it a 1 star for very similar reasons. It is not worth saving $5-10 IMO.

There seem to be 1,100 people on Newegg that say yes. Why worry what 2 or 3 might say here?

I use a number of uSD cards for media storage for phones and tablets.

Maybe some won't mind low write speeds, but they annoy me when loading many GB of movies and music from my network onto a card.

20MB/sec is too slow. I have Samsung and PNY uSD cards that write real world at around 80-85 MB/sec. Yes, they cost more. Admittedly, I wish they would write even faster.

Obviously, many people won't care about write times and/or loading large amounts of data to it at once and if you are one of them, why spend more? This card would work just fine for you.

Well g.skill is a reputable and popular company, just for RAM and not microSD. Back in the day, I got a 64GB version of this card and it performed admirably. I believe it should be fine for most use cases, and they do offer a lifetime warranty. It's reasonable for the price. If you need greater speed and consistency, get the Samsung EVO microSD's whenever there's a sale.

Something about these plain black cards with the same plain white print on them just scream "I WILL NOT WORK AFTER 3 WRITE CYCLES"

That's actually printed on the back of the card.
