Surprised these are on sale again before Black Friday weekend.

At Best Buy. Amazon usually follows suit, but they haven't yet.

I completely agree with this.

The highs in the Sonys can really blend nicely to give you a wide sound stage, particularly if you consider adding a separate sub. They do measure better on this particular point than many higher end speakers.

For the whole set, the subwoofer is the weak link.
If really trying to stay cheap, I would instead recommend something like a Bic or Monoprice.

One thing I will add to OP's comparison is that these Sonys sounded even fuller to me compared to the bottom end Klipsch series I heard right next to them. They are easily better than the Pioneer Andrew Jones that also compete in this price point.

Basically, these really are excellent value for the money.

I had the Polk S15, S20 and S30 center channel and also had the Sony speakers at the same time and still have them. The S15 compared to the CS5 is fairly close. The S15 has a little better bass capability, while the CS5 has a bit more detail in the treble. I would say if you were doing a 2 channel stereo system, then the S15 would be the better option. With a subwoofer, the CS5. The S15 on sale still goes for around $150, so the CS5 is half the price when on this 50% off sale.

Just checked and the Polk S15 is currently on sale for $156.00.

Subwoofer is part of this sale but this time around the elevation speakers are not. For those who want that super set up wait till this includes the elevation speakers as it did last time.

Bought 3 pair of SSCS5's last time they were on sale. Overal I am very impressed with them. Very good detail and sound stage. Midrange is close to perfect. Highs are very detailed, sometimes a bit too much. Weirdly made me not like a few songs as it can highlight raspiness in voices (might need to adjust EQs)(I blame the super tweeter for this). Bass is decent, but would recommend a sub of somesort to get the low lows. Definetely would recommed for this price point!

Get the floorstandings only. Those are the only things worth it here. The sound quality is good on them. Forget the surrounds or anything else. However, buy what you can afford. This is a good price for 2 floorstandings. It will fill a room easily with sound. Even if you pair it with a stereo reciver. Just get the floorstandings. Forget everything else. The rest is shit for the price. as a matter of fact, the rest are basically at NORMAL PRICE. Get the floorstandings only.

Also post title is alittle misleading. the shit surrounds and center are $75, which is their Normal Price, and the best deal, which is the floorstanding speakers, are $100. OP shouldnt attempt to be dishonest and should change the misleading title.
Maybe he's trolling but everything this guy just said is wrong. If you're interested in these, ignore this guys comment. I recommend the bookshelf's over the towers

B6.2's are in a completely different league as these.
