Just got back from my local Fry's and can confirm it is the 8000. However, while I was there I realized that they are clearing the shelves of the entire store (Burbank). None of the employees knew/would say, but I'm very certain that our store is closing down and inventory is very limited. They didn't even have this in stock.

Sad day.

I saw the same thing happen in the industry location. I think frys days are numbered. Very sad to see.

Last week I hopped on the 65" for $699 deal... my delivery guy from Fry's said its not looking good and said to keep an eye out within the 30 day return period for any clearance deals. So yes, it seems to be what the reality of the situation is.

I drove past Sunnyvale Frys on a Saturday around 11am and it looked like it was shutdown. I didn't see any news about it closing so I wasn't sure if that location closed or it was closed for renovations or something. The one in Campbell appears to still be open for business.

My son worked in the Sacramento store until earlier this year and said they were having trouble paying suppliers. The suppliers weren't shipping stock so the stores looked empty and they were told to spread existing stock out on the shelves.

Does this come with the OEM warranty? Especially important if Frys is going down.

Anaheim also has no inventory of stuff except for as seen on tv items and knockoff perfume/cologne. Zero employees in the return department or the service area even.

"4k upscaling" seems like a funny feature to market. What would a 4k tv without upscaling do, just show TV in a small corner of the screen?

Now imagine if they actually allowed their stores to ship things out and let everyone that isn't near their stores participate in their sales? Who knows, maybe they be in a better position financially.

Some of the cheaper models didn't have the ability to upscale and one actually releases a cable after the fact, that had a chip in it, for upscaling.

Just wanted to say this TV is great!

I got it last week at $1799 and the reduced the price $1699.

I asked manager when getting price reduce about why they kept dropping the price on these and they told me frys got a Huge number of these to get a good price but they didn't sell as fast as they expected and they take up a ton of space. Not sure its true but at $1699 this is a great TV. I have an OLED and while it isn't as good but the blacks are really great considering it doesn't have local dimming. I love all the game features and HDR content looks insane and games are no joke at 82" sitting 9 feet from the screen.

Is this a 2019 or older model? Any comments on the brightness? Just reading through reviews and wondering.
