Newegg sells the receiver for the same price, but without tax in most states. https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16886980032?Description=onkyo%20tx-sr393&cm_re=onkyo_tx-sr393-_-86-980-... [newegg.com]

Picked this up today, didn't really see if it was a good deal. But paired with the Sony floor standings and center from the Sony sale this is amazing

well
first off its the lowest end of the 2019 models.. and personally a 5.2 is plenty of speakers for me. I don't plan to ever run a 7.2 or 9.2 setup... its got atmos and dts:x support along w/ 4k @60hz HDR... i have a gut feeling that we'll see some lower prices black friday but who knows..

this would be a pretty nice first receiver if you're not planning to get into the 7.2 or 9.2 realm.. the only thing stopping me is the price.. should i wait a few months and watch it possibly drop or just get it and enjoy

Keep in mind the Atmos is 3.1.2 on this receiver, so you'd sacrifice the rear channels. You can either go 5.2 or 3.1.2. 7.2 would do 7.2 or 5.1.2.

Thanks for the info. I think 5.2 is also more than I'm used to so it should be plenty.

AHHH didnt realize that..

so its either surround channels or Atmos channels. This might still work for me because I've got ceiling speakers BUT would i lose rear channel sounds? or would it blend into the ceiling speakers?

Lukewarm deal. For a few bucks more, you'll find things like BT connectivity for music, chromecast support, etc.

If you absolutely need a cheap receiver right now, not a bad deal but worth holding out if not in a rush
