Wait so for Good Eats do we get the full season as it comes out? Or the "full season" right now that's already out?

Edit: nevermind, it looks like you get the new episodes as they come available.

I dont know if you will get the full season for the 2.99.. But im willing to chance it. I got to meet him during his first tour and he made fun of my mom... Im not even mad about it, she was taking forever to take my photo with him and he asked if she was instead making an oil painting
You will get the entire full season as they come out. This has been going on for a while where Amazon would list the entire season for the same price as an episode when the new season is starting.

I watched the new Good Eats season premier last night for the Chicken Parmesan episode. I love Alton Brown, but when he said to get a certain kind of tomato only grown in a special part of Italy and have it imported...he lost me.

Give me my tomato paste and I'll add seasoning or get a sauce and spice it up some.
San Marzano tomatoes are pretty widely available and not that hard to find. I agree that you don't necessarily need them, as long as you're getting good quality canned tomatoes and not just Hunt's or store brand or whatever since 90% of making great Italian food is just using top quality ingredients. Regardless, I think the main point of that section wasn't so much about how great San Marzanos are as that it's interesting that a lot tomatoes that are sold as San Marzanos actually aren't.

Does anyone know how many episodes there will be in this season of Good Eats?

I already bought it, but I'm curious and my search-fu has failed me.
Some of these reboots only get 10 episodes. I'm hoping it's a full size season.

That's a good point. I never heard of them and when he said to get the ones only made in Italy. You're right as I just searched online and found the "San Mazano stye" tomatoes readily available for about double the cost as basic tomatoes, which isn't as bad as initially thought...especially if only making the dish once a month or so.

Overall, I liked the recipe he used and doable in an at-home environment.

How's the reboot? I used to watch him religiously back in the day and loved the show, but it's been awhile and don't know if he's still the same? I never got into the Chopped show.

Thanks, got Diners and Eats.

I wish there was Home scratch here like on Diner's. My only choices are the pre packed manufactured Applebees and Olive Garden and garbage like that. Even the Chinese joints are the same stuff as in the grocery store freezer.

The first episode was more recipe driven than technique driven which bothered me a little, but I still enjoyed it and look forward to the rest of the episodes. It did have a good dose of food history and a good gear selection segment.
The first episode is available for free on youtube if you'd like to check it out.

I wanna say 13-15, but he will be continuing this into other seasons.

The "Good Eats Reloaded" it okay - some good new information, but mostly the same old show. The newest "Good Eats" airing yesterday was an improvement with newer techniques but looks like it will also add complexity to his recipes with the availability of newer technology/techniques.
