These are European designed shoes, so the stylings may not be typical for your average WalMart shopper. Your friend gave you good advice. If you can find a style you like and you are able to properly care for these shoes, they will be among the most comfortable and long lasting shoes you will ever purchase. You will buy 5 pairs of WalMart or Macy's shoes before you replace one pair of Eccos.

A coworker told me about ECCO shoes just yesterday. Said they were "super durable". Looked at these $250 shoes that look like $40 Wal-Mart shoes and passed. Especially passing with stupid pricing games. There's no way I'd pay full price these shoes, let alone 60% of that price. At 40% off $250 for a total of $150, I can get Nike's. Hell, I could get two pairs at my local outlet and the quality will be the same. What a rip off.
Actually this deal is not so tempting one. In the past I have seen better deals from Ecco. In general Ecco shoes are having nice quality

I have a pair of dress shoes. They lasted about 8 years before starting to fall apart. But I'm also kind of rough on them.

lol... You are comparing these to nikes. I'll wear through 5 pairs of nikes before one ecco.

I got two pairs of the Colin 2.0 slip on last time, in navy and cashmere. Put some dr shoals insoles in them and wear them most everyday. They are so very comfortable, light, and stylish. Would highly recommend for $60/pair. The leather is very nice, and they breath well. I wear a 12W and the 46 fits great.

You're clearly uneducated when it comes to shoes. Not sure what else. I work sales floor in hard surface and Ecco has outlasted every and any shoe I've ever worn. I like the look of Nike but their quality sucks and mass imported from China. You're paying for the name Nike. Walmart has knockoffs. You might even think Ecco isn't attractive on these models, but to say Walmart compares to them is comparing a Kia to a Lexus.

Outlet nikes? Everybody knows you're poor.
