For anyone that isn't currently a T-Mobile subscriber, the test drive service is back and works with the new band 71.

You'll receive a hotspot device to use for 30 days (or up to 30GB of data whichever is first). No strings attached!

If you're having issues with an IMEI error try using an alternate browser.

If you get the "Existing Customer" notice during any step, try making these changes.
- If email is flagged as an Existing Customer, try a different email. If you don't have another email, make a new one on gmail or whatever.
- If address is flagged as an Existing Customer, append your address by adding something that will still get it delivered in your case, apartment #, Suite #, etc. or try a different address, work, neighbor, etc
- If phone number is flagged as an Existing Customer, try a different one. Also, you can get a new number from Google Voice for free.

Anyone have issues with the hotspot randomly rebooting? All 5 lights turn green... right before that, it'll lose wifi connection and when you try to connect, it'll say incorrect password?

So I got the device shipped to my house but there's no SIM card inside. Isn't this supposed to come with SIM card?

Sim and battery are inside the box. Not inside the unit.

The sim card is a credit card sized card inside the plastic wrapped manual. It's red with T-Mobile prominently printed. You'll have to punch it down to nano size to fit. HTH

It's the sim that locks after 30 days, It can be used with a new sim or data plan.

Used 30gb data in 7 days, put sim from other test drive into first unit and started a new 30 gb cycle.
The new 30 GB Cycle was a paid or free one.

How do I return the device after 30 days? If I dont want to continue with the service?
Do I ship it back or take it to T-mobile store or is it not necessary to return it?

Not necessary to return it Smilie

You can pass it on to someone else who wants to try it. They can register for a SIM card with 30 days/ 30 GB using their own information, plus the IMEI of the unit that you are giving them. As long as the deal is still active at least ...

ETA: Or you can return it to a T-Mobile store, or just keep it.

I have a horrible signal here and at our vacation place, so I gave it to my nephew who has no WiFi. Makes sense to re-purpose it when you can. Applause

Good luck

It's was free sim from a different test drive box that was not turned on or setup yet.

It's the plan that your test driving, the hardware are not linked to a sim until turned on

Ya too many frauds. They are cracking down and making you call to verify information. No longer automated.
