It wasn't, but several software updates made it a lot better. Still having problems with Dolby Vision on Netflix

This, or the Sharp? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sharp-...thena=true
Those might be the same TV just with Sharp brand.

From Wikipedia:
In 2015, Hisense received a five-year license to use the Sharp brand on televisions in the Americas. Hisense also bought a Sharp factory in Mexico.[13][20]

In June 2017, Hisense was sued by Sharp under its new owner Foxconn, seeking to have the licence agreement halted. Sharp accused Hisense of damaging its brand equity by utilizing its trademarks on products it deemed to be "shoddily manufactured", including those that it believed to have violated U.S. safety standards for electromagnetic radiation, and deceptive advertising of their quality. Hisense denied that it engaged in these practices, and stated that it planned to defend itself in court and "will continue to manufacture and sell quality televisions under the Sharp licensed brands."[21][22]

In Feb 2018 Sharp dropped the lawsuit.

I received the update as well, and was hoping Prime Video would be included, but it was not.

Great tv for the price though.

So this really doesn't have the full Google Playstore?

Vizio P-Series are above $1000, this is $300.

I have two of these exact Hisense 58s but they were my first 4k tvs so my bar for comparison isnt very high. The Android TV is getting really good, this interface has better performance than my miBox. It gets pretty bright but im not sure how exactly to calibrate for optimal brightness/back-light for Dolby Vision. The backlight has some fading in the corners is probably my only complaint I can see. I cant imagine getting a better +55" TV for less than $300 without some sort of price mistake, Refurb, or in-store clearance luck.

Let me rephrase this...I know it wouldn't have the full Playstore but what other basic apps like Prime Video are missing?
Also is there any way to play a slideshow from your Google photos?
