Was a frontpage deal a few days ago at $234. Price was just reduced today to $229.99 (plus 5% eBay Bucks- YMMV).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Nice price. Seems like it has some mapping abilities with go/no-go zones but does it store the floor plan and use it for the next time?

Can anyone sell me on this? Looking for something great for hard wood floors, with a small transition to carpet with some tassels (if I need to set a no-go area, I will). I have a dog and a cat - medium/high shedders, so guessing i would need to empty the bin daily.

Anything else to know?

I have the Costco variant which I paid too much for.

It does store floor plans, but only one. There is a "hack" to make it clean two floors while retaining the first floorplan:

1. Without turning it off, pull it off its charger and bring it wherever you want it to clean.
2. Let it clean. It will map the second floor and return to its starting position when it's finished.
3. Turn it off, then return it to the charger and turn it on. It will wipe the second floorplan and restore the first one.
4. This also resets your suction power setting, so you'll then have to go back into the app and configure the setting to max power, if that's your preference.

I generally like the Deebot. The app is good, can be started and stopped in Alexa, and the mapping feature is nice (along with the ability to draw no-go zones, or select zones to receive extra cleaning). At this price it's a far, far better vacuum than even Roombas that cost twice as much.

In regards to not storing two floor plans, that shouldn't be an issue if I have a ranch, correct?

No, but it may need to do large floorplans in several cleanings (I think the option is called continuous cleaning). Basically, it will map and clean your house between two or more recharges. At max suction power it'll clean for probably an hour (maybe 900 square feet, I'd guess), and at normal power probably 1100 square feet or so.

That wouldn't necessarily bother me as we don't use half of the house with just the two of us, so one side shouldn't be very dirty and require less cleanings. Assuming I can place on a schedule, I would have that side cleaned less frequently. Think I'm in for one.

Also - for $15 - is the 2-year SquareTrade worth it?

$15 squaretrade is worth it. Got pets? Pet hair will clog your filter and lead to vacuum motor death more quickly than otherwise. Wait till you're away from home and run it just after your animal has puked, peed, or shat on the floor!

Just picked one up from the recent sams club deal at $250. Fully mapped my ranch out in 2 runs, had to charge halfway through cleaning. All together itll clean 740 sq ft in 57 minutes at normal power with roughly a 4 hr charge period in the middle. The house is roughly 600 sq ft of low pile carpet, so I imagine that cuts into the battery life. All in all a great buy, can be set up as a scheduled cleaning, Ive got mine on 3 days a week. Can be watched from the app which has worked great for me, lets you drop no-go zones fairly easily.

Just had to bring up the infamous pet smearing.... That scares me more than I care to admit

Bought this from Costco last year. It worked well on hardwood and carpet but ultimately didn't work out because of a large area rug and the black edge confusing the drop sensor. The drop sensor can be taped off and then rely on mapping no-go zones, but the vacuum kept losing it reference to the map and required a remap. Every remap required manual entry of the no-go zones. Too much hassle; returned to Costco and bought a Neato D3. I upgraded the battery and filter and I am now very happy. No problems with Neato's drop sensor. The extra capacity in the Neato is very helpful with dog hair. The D3 is louder than the Deebot but tolerable.
