Dell is clearing off the stock of 8th gen as 10th gen is in for xps 13. unless you dont need the performance or battery jumps for 10th gen the price is good.
However the memory and ssd are soldered and cannot be upgraded

Not to hijack the thread but If you need 16 gb ram and 512 SSD - 200 more at costco.

True, but the new stock will not be this low for awhile. If you are willing to wait, always wait. There are always better laptops with better everything coming out which will eventually get down in price.

If you need a high end ultrabook, I'd say this is one of the best deals I've seen lately. If you need something for college and are on the fence, I'm highly impressed with these models.

They're also clearing out for the above mentioned product for the upcoming upgrades, since this is older (newer right now is 9380), when the next gen rolls around, this should drop even more.

Based on reviews, the most common cons people write are bad placement of webcam (nasal cam), again people will probably argue for/against the need of a webcam, but if you look at who this laptop is targeted to i.e. productivity machine, this generally includes a group of people who need to video conference on their laptops.

Also, other thing is lack of legacy USB A, meaning you have to buy a USB C port adapter as well.
