Mi 9T is not a viable choice in the US since it only has LTE bands 2, 4, 5. Huawei P30 is DOA because of the US ban on the company. Zenfone 6 is still constantly out of stock. I want a new phone in the $500 and under range with a finger print sensor and I'm tempted with this.

Is this a Axon 7 successor?
Yes and no. It is in most respects (there was also an Axon 9 in some markets) but doesn't include the signature front-facing stereo speakers, because no one wants wide bezels anymore. It's also priced higher. I loved my Axon 7 for a couple years but I'm not paying this much for an Axon 10. Maybe when the price comes down more I'll consider one, but my experience with LG's V-series has been good too.

Wasn't Tim cook planning on bringing iPhone manufacture back to the States? Then realized there would be no profit so it's all going to Vietnam?
Never considered that, an American made I phone would have to cost 3 thousand dollars.

Nobody is overpaying the employees. The rest just goes in the company coffers. The same with tax breaks.

Do you guys seriously trust Chinese Telecom companies not to spy on your usage? Where are all the good ol ALL MURIKUN made phones?
make sure to learn what is "lawful interception", the LI. LI is a mandatory funtion for telecom device providers which is required by most of countries' Goverment in the world, in order to monitor telecommunications within core net of service providers, like Verizon, att , tmobile etc. Major telecom related devices without LI cannot even be selected into venders' list.

Mi 9T Pro or Redmi K20 Pro is $200 less.
Don't believe the 9T pro is available in the US and K20 pro is incompatible. I have the Mi9 myself, international version, which is mostly okay on Tmobile.
