Does anyone else have experience with Adorama's price protection? I bought the 706c back on Aug 12th for $389. Wondering if it's worth my time to call for a credit.
Can't hurt to try. I bought mine 8/1 or so and I'm going to try.

Was going to get the 705s but at this price point and no rebates to deal with, it was a no brainer. Picked up the 706 as well. Can't wait!

Damnit. I just paid $1400/pr for these 707 towers a few weeks ago and here they are for $1100/pr. With the new Polk Audio Legend series just announced (full reveal on 9/6 I think), it's no wonder the deal is this good. And if you want my opinion, the new Legend series look like garbage compared to the current LSi series. Anyway, just want to say I have the 707 towers bi-amped (not bi-wired, actually bi-amped) to a Yamaha Aventage 3080 along with the 706 center bi-wired. Using my old Polk Monitor 75Ts as rears in a 5.1 setup with a Polk PS-125 sub and I LOVE it. Best setup I have ever had running by far. I'm using it for critical 2ch listening from DVD Audio & vinyl, home theater, and multi-channel stereo streaming the highest quality Tidal and Spotify formats over WiFi (not bluetooth). I've used some nice Klipsch Reference speakers in the past as well as some fancier JBLs and these 707s are just the best I've ever had. The 706 center sounds INSANELY good in HT or multi-channel stereo. Again, best I've ever heard. To be fair, those other speakers weren't mated to an AVR this good... and they also weren't bi-amped or bi-wired. That said, at $1100/pr, if you have been eyeing these, PULL THE TRIGGER. they're marvelous in every way. Build quality, looks, sound... I'm completely in love. I went with the Mt. Vernon cherry and I couldn't be happier. Ping me if you have any Qs. I'm all too happy to gush about them. I've heard others say they are too big or too boomy. I have found neither of those things to be the case at all. I've also read that they need to be placed further out from the wall. I tested several positions and can confirm they sound as great against the wall as they do pulled out several feet with the crossover set at Large, 40 or 80hz, no problems at all on any setting. The one caveat is they need power. Any old AVR will work of course, but you need at least 150-200 watts to truly make them shine (assuming you listen as critically as I do).
When you say fancier JBL, which model in particular. I have the JBL Studio 590 and love them.

I have the Polk monitor 75T toeers with 25C center and 45B bookshelf's with a Demon 4520CI receiver and 2 Dayton 1200 subs. Would I see an improvement and could my receiver handle these?
I actually upgraded from a monitor 75Ts to these as well. I think the difference is night and day but I also upgraded my amp and bi-amped them with higher quality Monoprice Monolith speaker cables. It really depends on what exactly you're doing with them. If you have zero intention of upgrading your amp or bi-amping, and you don't do critical listening, or HT at reference volume levels, you may not find that upgrading is worth it for you... although I'm so so glad I did. They're gorgeous and sound amazing. I'm sure I'll have enjoy them for years. I don't think you can get higher quality for anywhere near this money.

The cherry 703s seem to be open box only when added to cart. Not the case with the mahogany as they appear to be new.

The Studio 590 is a great speaker. I personally find the LSiM towers much more sophisticated looking and warmer sounding which is important to me. To be fair I've only heard the 590s in a demo room. The JBL's I owned were purchased way back in 2001. I can't remember the model #s now but they were expensive and sounded good.

Well - the 703s (dark) I had in my cart were removed and I cannot add them again. Did I miss out?

hmm not really at this price. Read reviews, the series was considered well valued at about half msrp. At $1k for the 707 or $480 for the 703s, you will not find a better pair on the market for towers at this sensitivity.

Please feel free to link something if I am missing but Kef, ascend, svs, hsu, triad etc etc are all much higher for equiv performing towers. the 703s are cheaper than Q150's right now, that is just crazy.

Which is better - Klipsch RP-280FA Reference Premiere Atmos or Polk LSiM707 Floorstanding Speakers?

Klipsch is available $799 (pair) while Polk will be $1098 ( pair)
