If you need the i7 for a reason, you're going to need more than 8gb of RAM.

I'm debating between getting this or flex 14 with Ryzen 5, which is $50 cheaper ($550) on Amazon

Staples page does not clarify which version of Windows 10 this is (S, home, Pro)
Cannot find this model number on the Lenovo web site 81SQ000MUS
Caution seems warranted.

Only 8gb RAM kinda kills it for me. Needs to be 12 or 16 minimum these days as just a few apps open will eat through 8.
i particularly don't like 8 gig ram paired with i7 cpu. but
for majority of users, i dont think they will notice between 8 and 16.
$600 bucks for a 2 in 1. i think is worth a go.
i personally waiting for 16 gig like you.

I think in terms of core cpu, intel version is marginally better. However vega 8 graphics is way better than the intel uhd 620. I would say overall ryzen version is better it is also cheaper. It was selling earlier this week for $470 in store in office depot plus 7% cash back on a cash back site

Thank you for your reply. I'll bite the one with the Ryzen 5. Seems like a better deal

According to Staples support, this is Windows 10 Home, which they were able to verify through some internal documentation that they wouldn't share with me. So take it with a grain of salt.

That's just it, the majority of users don't need i7. An i5 or i3 is perfect for many. If you need the i7 for a reason, you're going to need more than 8gb of RAM too.

I need i7 or equivalent amd for photo/video 1080 and 4k editing but not sure how 620 handles it even with 16gb or if it matters what graphics is used. i also want to do light gaming.

is ryzen 5 = i7? i dont see many laptops with ryzen 7 especially like this 2 in 1
