Option 1 looks like a good deal, the receiver rx-v485 seems to have decent reviews and goes for $280-$300 alone, making the whole speaker set $470ish

Any chance we will see lower prices during Black Friday?

Does anyone know if on the Atmos enabled 625FA does the upfiring speakers require separate wiring to the AVR? If so bundle 2 comes with more speakers than you can actually use with the AVR I think.

yes, correct, you need each separately connection for the atmos speaker that sits on top of the floorstanding. many elect to get 9.2 or a separate amplifier.. it depends.

Interesting way to make a bundle, but it actually works out for me. Upfiring speakers won't really work in my basement since I have exposed beams everywhere but maybe I can use those extra surrounds for Atmos instead.

I've been browsing Dolby Atmos systems for the past couple weeks and landed on the Nakamichi Shockwafe 9.2.4. Just waiting for a deal to pop up.

Dunno why the thumbs down. I'm curious about an informed guess, from those who are more aware of pricing trends on speakers and Black Friday too.

I am thinking about getting the 2nd deal but my question is are the 2 surround sound speakers in useable with the RX-780 since it is only a 5.2.2 receiver?

I have a 31x15 movie theater room. I'm trying to find a good setup for the room. Walls and ceiling are all drywall. Everytime I see a deal I read the comments and then am lost again lol. Budget is up to 2k but would rather stay around 1-1500 as I rarely use the room.
