Extreme YMMV - Traeger Pro 575 Grill - Home Depot $560

Hey folks,

Was browsing my local Home Depot and found some Traeger grills on-sale. They have the Renegade 22 for $460, and the Pro 575 for $560. Fairly good deal, if you are in the market.

The price is not reflected on the website, nor does it say if it is on clearance. BUT - BrickSeek says it is on Clearance at HD Store #1908 (Chicago, IL - 60629). Had 3 left when I was there at this price. Price tag as FYI

Is it just me or do these things just feel cheap? I checked out a few the other day and the whole thing feels like a tin can. Can anyone who has owned one of these for a few years chime in to let us know how they held up?

Not an owner of a Traeger, but I did not buy it for exactly the above reason. Ended up paying a bit more and getting a Rec Tec.

It doesnt seem like a good deal even at $560. The Pro line is their entry level stripped down model and doesnt even have stainless steel grates. The grates are porcelain-coated steel. They have poor (non-existant) insulation and have unbalanced temperatures on left and right side (where the smoke stack is). Temps can swing upwards of 30 degrees between the 2 sides.

Id go with a Camp Chef SmokePro for about $450 instead. Better build quality and better left / right temp control. You can also get a sear box for reverse seared steaks.

These days with Traeger you are just paying for the name. There are better or equal options for less money (Pit Boss) or you can step up and get a RecTec or Yoder.

I was able to purchase the pro 575 floor model as it was the last one, with a discount on top since it was the floor model at the brooklyn 3rd avenue store. Final price was $420 + 8.875% tax = $457.275. Fired up some burgers later that night and was extremely happy with it. Coming from a little Weber smokey joe, i'm pretty happy with it.

I see clearance at one location by me. Gonna swing by after work to check it out. Thanks OP.

Bummer still $699 for Pro 575 at location that stated clearance.

I only cook on grills that are a good deal at over $1000 …..then I buy cheap meat at the discount grocery store if I max out my cards buying expensive things
