How does this compare to other headphones in this range?

Will this give a neutral sound for mixing?

I owned these for a long time, and will probably repurchase them at this price. They are much smoother than the DT990 or something in that range. I would not call them dead flat, but probably the most mellow Beyer I have ever heard. I do like a very slight bit boosted treble for detail which these had. In case you are wondering I sold them to try the Senn HD660s.

Thoughts on the HD660s vs this?

I think the HD660s is a more well rounded headphone. I have always like Beyers for a different sound signature headphone, but for me they are all fatiguing long term. These are awesome if you love the Beyer sound, but they are still bright. I still have an old pair of DT880s in my collection.

Same. The DT1990s are the only Beyerdynamic headphones I've tried that I don't find too bright. Not only are the 1990s not too bright they're excellent.

I consider my Focal Elear to be a 'super' HD650 and my DT1990s as a 'super' HD600. I also own the 600 and 650.

Are these better than Beats by that medical doctor named Dre?

I'm not entirely certain that people differential the way they write reviews for high end headphones as they do for bourbon or wine.

The notes were exaggerated but not muted and certainly not understated. They gave the overall impression of brightness but not before crashing bereft into audio examples of how the user should experience the desired result.

While I prefer the amiron's complexities, it is not worth the cost of admission when Boone's Farm can do the job for 2.99 x 6 bottles.

Man, I wish I had these headphones.

Here is a pretty good review.

Just a note, I sold my HD600's and picked up Massdrop Meze Noir 99. I would definately consider those in the same price range of these Beyer's and the HD600's. I prefer them to the HD600's. And as an added plus, they are great looking. They ooze beauty, IMHO.

Here is a good review on the Beyer's

I want this... I would have bought if I do not already have 3 pairs of headphones and only have one pair of ears.
