I've got this same model and like it so much more than my Google 8" model. Picture is easier to see from across the room and the speaker is much better for music, news etc. It also has a video cam built in for Google video calls - including a slide shutter for privacy block.

Got two of these also during the $75 refurb deal. It's one of the rare pieces of tech I bought that gets daily use now. It has a very loud speaker and the screen is clear. Set your expectations though as this is basically a Google home with a screen and a partially neutered chromecast built in... Not a tablet! It does have touch and you can scroll through YT recommendations, see your weather, commute traffic, etc. Useful for setting kitchen timers and viewing recipes as well

As a streaming device, it works very well with YT and Crunchyroll... And honestly that's about all I could fine for now. No Prime Video or Netflix yet or likely ever. I use YT almost exclusively so obviously this gets alot of thumbs up for me.

My main wish is that it would work with the ring video doorbell to see visitors, but it will probably not happen for the same reason as prime video...

Good price w/ points but unless you realllllly care about it being FHD and big, the 8" has been ~$55 a few times refurbished and has nearly the same specs.

Got 2 earlier this year for under 75 dollars each. They work fine if you have a current version router. That said I also have 2 Google home units that I bought for under 50 dollars each, and for daily use I greatly prefer.

All true, but not at this price.
Thank you for giving the definitive word on the value of this device. You can have an opinion, it might be nicer to offer it instead of just telling other people their opinion is invalid because your differs.

I would hold this buy. Google Nest Hub Max is coming out 9/9 with a 6.5 MP camera (vs 5) and 2 - 10w 18mm tweeter + 1 75mm woofer (vs 1 10w speaker) for $229. Same 10.1 size

Thanks for sharing! What do you like about the Google Home more than this one?

Google products at launch are not considered a slickdeal by any means. If you are looking to get the biggest and best and pay a premium then hold out. For what this is, this is a great price.

I think the refurb version that sells for $75 is a better deal. I wouldn't pay more than $85 due to some of the limitations it has. Like what others have said, this display can't do everything a Chromecast can--no Netflix (likely ever), Prime Video (maybe in the future), no display mirroring from a laptop or phone. But Chromecast multi-room audio works well, and Plex is great on the display.

I want to get something like this and hang it on my main front door, when door bell rings at the gate I want to say "show me front door" or "show me garage camera" and it would show them. Is this possible?
