We've bought two from Costco. The first one lasted a couple years before the smoke literally came out. Brought it back to Costco and was promptly refunded. We replaced the first with the Bluetooth one (from Costco). While my experience is just that, my experience, I wouldn't buy anywhere other than Costco given the warranty. FWIW we use ours 4-5 times a week to make smoothies, so not heavy duty blending.

I believe the older model used to have taller jars, but I'm not sure. And I heard these shorter jars are not as effective as the older taller jars.

I believe that the taller thinner jars are superior for smaller amounts, with the wider ones probably being a bit better with larger volumes.

Doesn't Vitamix have an 8 year warranty? So when you buy from Costco don't you get Vitamix's warranty and whatever costco's warranty is?

I have this model. Got it from vitamix directly as refurbished. They offer same warranty as a new one. Has been working perfectly for over a year. Primarily to make smoothies. Crushes ice like it's nothing. I like the Pre settings a lot. Highly recommend. As refurbished mode we ended up getting taller jar, which doesn't fit under the cabinets. Haha so maybe smaller jar easier to store on the counter.

I have this blender. I had the older taller one before. The taller one never ever left chunks of unblended fruit. This one does all the time. My mom has the Waring extreme. It's better than both. If I was buying a new blender today it would be the Waring extreme

Does Costco require you to keep the box and return in the box?

How does this model compare to some of the newer stuff like the A2500?

According to this https://lifeisnoyoke.com/which-vitamix-to-buy/ link towards the bottom, it is a Costco special model.

Two years ago I bought the refurbished version of this model directly from Vitamix. My parents have used it 5-6 days a week and couldn't live without it. It does everything they need and then some. No complaints.

Costco's return policy doesn't require the original packaging or the original receipt. All products can be returned with or without a box. Certain items must be returned within 90 days of purchase, but, in general, Costco allows returns at any time and in any condition.
