- $191.59 ..... Discount code IGD17
$935.40 ..... Total (not incl. tax)

less $200 ... VISA GC bonus
less $37 ..... 4% TCB cashback*
less $47 ...... Discover card 5% Paypal category
=====================================

Approx. Net Cost = $651 (+ tax)

NOTES:
  • Reference to TCB refer to a cashback site. Please google "TCB cashback" if you aren't familiar with it. TCB is just one example of a cashback site.
A frequent question is whether cashback sites treat "Dell" and "Dell Small Business" the same. SDers seem to have had mixed results. Some were successful, some were not. YMMV.
  • The $200 VISA gift card is automatically generated as part of this deal, you don' t need to do anything separately to get it. Presumably, it will be sent out when the order is filled or when the PC is shipped. It can be used like any other VISA gift card and does not necessarily need to spent on Dell products. Unknown whether it has an expiration date.

CORRECTION: You must separately file a claim online for the VISA gift card.

For details and instructions, see:
https://dellgiftcardpromo.com/us/...cbts/terms

Claims must be submitted within 30 days from the date of shipment.

The electronic VISA gift card shall be sent via email within 28 days of claim validation. The gift card shall expire in 90 days, with the date of the email containing the gift card being day 1.

  • The 5% Discover card discount is for Discover Card holders only. If you don't have a Discover Card, please disregard this discount.
  • While the Qualcomm wireless/bluetooth card included in the deals is very good, you might want to consider the optional Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (2x2) card for just $24.50. You may not need the Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 now, but it's a small price to pay for future compatibility.
  • There are numerous reports of the air cooled power supply being extremely noisy in this setup. You might want to consider purchasing the optional liquid cooled power supply for $49. Reference: https://www.dell.com/community/Al...-p/7320989
If you order the liquid cooled power supply, please note that the order details will not reflect it. If you need some reassurance, please copy the image of the CART before checking out. You will find the power supply description by clicking the link "View full specs". If you wait until after placing the order, the description in your order details is truncated and makes no mention of the liquid cooling.

Do you know how to verify the graphics card is correct? I just got mine and it has 2x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, and 1x Dual Link-DVI which sounds like they might have put a GTX 1070 in the computer.
In Windows go to "Device Manager" then click on "Display Adapters". You should see your graphics card listed there.

Mine just came yesterday. I got the i7 9700 with water cooling.

I did some gaming on it, and noticed, even with water cooling, the fan gets loud. I can't imagine what it sounds like without water cooling! I'm hoping to figure out a fix for that, or complain to dell. I've read that there are a few things to try to get it to go away. (Update to 1.07 bios, remove alienware Control Center (or whatever its called), in NVIDIA settings set the physx processor to the GPU only (not Auto or CPU). I tried all of these though, and it never got better while gaming. I guess I can live with it, but it is like 100% louder than my other gaming PC.

I ran userbenchmark tests, and everything looks great.
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/20086115
I ran it while I had a couple things running on it, so it might be slightly better than the results list.

Parts list from what I could see in the case, without getting to crazy:
RTX 2070 DP/N: 0JK88G (I can't find any manufacturer information based on the sticker)
hynix hma81gu6jjr8n-vk 8gb RAM (two sticks)
kxg60znv1t02 nvme toshiba 1024gb M.2
Motherboard is a custom Alienware board (Alienware 02XRCM)

Overall, so far, I'm pretty happy with it, so long as I can figure out the fan noise, that's really my only big gripe. Otherwise, I was getting 250 fps in Rocket League. (maybe the max game setting?) Everything is blazing fast compared to my previous i7 2600K cpu.
I also use it for music making purposes, and CPU utilization is far less while running big projects and heavy CPU plugins (virtual instruments).
Just gotta figure out that damn fan noise. lol

I also just got the email from dell "Dell.com PC Promo Visa® card Cashback - Claim Validated" which says "ou will receive your cashback payment via a digital Promo Visa® Prepaid card within 28 days of receipt of this email. Your cashback payment will be sent to the email address specified on the claim form."

TCB is still pending..
And I currently still don't see my cancellation credit yet.

Really sorry to see what you're saying about the loudness factor. Probably won't have the time till the weekend to check it all out, but if its as loud as you're saying it's probably going back. I've read some people saying here they were having difficulty figuring out if they had actually gotten the liquid cooling since it doesn't make it clear on Dell's parts list. Were you able to determine yours definitely came with the liquid cooling? Wondering if that could be it since so many people seem to be saying it was no problem with the liquid. I also do a lot of music production stuff and if there's too much background noise this won't work out.

Oh well, we'll see. Good luck with yours. Post here what you wind up doing with it.

So I got the computer yesterday and so far so great. Spent about 4 hours transferring everything and rerunning all my wires. I haven't opened up the case but the fan does get somewhat loud. Overall it was definitely a great buy though.

As far as the TCB, I submitted a trouble ticket and they said they payable date is about 11 weeks, so that it should appear late November. That is pretty insane, but I guess if it does come then that'll be great, if not, no big deal.

Yes, it definitely had the cooling, although it seemed to be not on the order list. I haven't stress tested (fully) music production on it. Maybe the fan operates differently then? I'll try it tonight. Still hoping for a fix for it if it does have issues during music.
Might still complain to dell, but I think the deal was a great one. Still pretty happy so far.

4, but I did not put anything in the other two, so they are untested. Can't think of a reason why they wouldn't work though..

About the fan noise from Dell tech support:

"If the BIOS update may have not resolved these inconveniences, may be related to something else. We may need to cover some additional steps since this may not be the related to the fan cooling system and may be something else."

I couldn't troubleshoot with him, but will try to tonight. He seems to think its related to something else, but who knows.

Been a long, long time since I dealt with their tech support. I don't remember it being a positive experience at all. Good luck. I was going to wait till the weekend to set it up but I might start to fiddle with it tonight to check out the fan. It's weird, there were definitely some people here and elsewhere that seemed to say no problem with the liquid cooling. Hopefully it all works out.

While filing the claim for the gift card I am receiving an error message stating that not all needed information was found. Can someone comment on how they filed their claim?

Thanks

I took the shipping email, turned it in to a pdf, then uploaded that for documentation.
Just ignore it. That's what I did, and I just got the approval email today that everything went through.

Hey, so I just did some FL Studio stress testing (20 instances of Diva + izotope 8 mastering) Super hogs. Here are the screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/ZKTXwoH

I can happily report, that it played back reasonably well, and ZERO fan noise. I left it run for about 10 mins this way. When gaming it would kick on after about 3-4 mins. So I think producing will be great. It's just gaming - maybe it's the GPU fans? I'll test, and look later.

Did you have an activate windows 10 message? It is saying my windows 10 is not activated, but I am not home during their contact hours, which kind of sucks. Other than that, it has been great for me.

Nope it got "Service_System_Exception", "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED", and "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE". The computer kept freezing as well at random times. When I ran the system diagnostics two times, it kept freezing when it was going through the memory.

Have to call again tomorrow since the department I was told to speak with is closed
