10th gen looks to be a touch faster than the 8th. This is also 10nm, so efficiency should be higher. Supposedly the integrated graphics is really the big gain. This model doesn't take advance of the faster ram speeds or LPDDR4 which mutes some of the advantages of the 10th gen. This price is pretty good though for touch screen and 12/512. The 3000 is a full plastic build though, so that's a bit of damper. Honestly, I'd rather have the 5000 and 8/256...

Here's a 10th gen review: https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...,6257.html

this video will break down the 10th gen cpu's

Higher numbers will not = higher performance like past intel chips.

example from the vid:

i5 1035g7 will out perform an i7 1060g7

Apparently this is the slowest GPU of the ice lake series, and seems to only be a tick above the UHD 630.

Good enough for office or daily use.
Not for gaming or designers

Yes, clock rates are lower for intel's new 10nm, 10th gen chips (ice lake). Turbo speeds get up to 3.6 GHz though for this model, which is still lower than the previous gen. That tomshardward link above shows that the increase in instructions per clock (IPC) going to Ice Lake more than makes up for the clock rate drop though.

The UHD620 really blows for video editing. H265 Quicksync is so slow, especially when effects are applied. To be frank, I can't see any reason to stick with an older CPU series when the latest costs slightly more. In my case I settled on the G3, since the dGPU will help with editing.
