No, that was a more recent model with the 6 core i5.

This one has a quad core 7th gen i5. (i5-7500).

Speed wise this seems faster or is that not always true ?

The 6 core i5 is significantly faster than the 4 core. As you would imagine with it being basically the same chip but with 2 more cores.

Nice monitor that becomes obsolete with the hardware.
Our office just refreshed all our imacs which were barely usable.2k Displays were still solid, crisp, clear, and functioning perfectly (except a few that had hardware heat burn in - yeah that's the downside to these all-in-ones) - and it's just a sad wasteful thing to dump those displays with the tech it relies on.

any iMac can finish school project (iOS programming), which is little cheaper on the market now?

Either laptop or desktop is ok.

Yeah, the BB deal appeared to either be a very short-term deal, or perhaps price mistake.

Intel site for this CPU [intel.com].

It is not that old (2017 same as this iMac model), it is 14nm which is good (older were 22nm -- run hotter and more power). It is 4 core 4 thread, meaning no hyper-threading, but 4 real "cores." (lower models and mobile usually use 2 core with hyper-threading which "pretends" to be an extra core but is limited in performance.)

I agree with the comments about limitations of all-in-ones, you can have a great monitor and tied to older HW that you can't upgrade. Also I never even considered the "heat" factor and I didn't know there were cases on iMac where heat was affecting the display -- that's certainly a concern. I've been a PC guy except for iPads which I like, and really have been tempted to jump into an iMac for a change.
