Fedex delivered 65 inch LG Oled C9 - box upside down

18 10 September 4, 2019 at 03:04 PM in Chat
Not sure if this is the forum to ask this question.
I bought the LG oled from google express , seller buydig.
It arrived by Fedex today, two days earlier.
It is in a big cardboard without any fragile sign, up or down sign.
the Fedex guys moved the box into my garage.
The lg box is UPSIDE down and there is NO styrofoam between the lg box and the cardboard box.
There are a couple of holes on the side of the cardboard box.
Should I return it for a full refund with google express without opening it up

You shouldn't have accepted delivery if there are holes in the box.

Now your options are more limited since the delivery goons will never admit they delivered it with holes in it.

Take a lot of pictures, and contact the seller telling them you want to return it. Don't open it.

I don't think buying online is for you. Try a local store. The extra $100 will be worth it for your own peace of mind.

If the above doesn't work, try arson.
This isn't true. It's not as though if the box was in perfect condition, that the TV could not still be damaged and you'd have no recourse.

Regardless of whether the box is visibly damaged or not, if the TV is damaged right out of the box and you report it right away, you have recourse. If the seller won't cooperate, your credit card certainly will. It's not like once you sign for the delivery the deal is done.

Now, refusing delivery for visible damage might be the EASIEST way to initiate the return, but it's never the only way.

Watching youtube all morning long.
Should I at least do the recommended:

Picture mode- Standard technical expert mode
Tru motion - off
Energy savings - off

Also for set up, all I have is the tv. No other media connection (no soundboard, game console, cable vision , antenna) ..so do I check the " I don't have tv service" even though I have Hulu live tv subscription.
Use these settings except turn the OLED light down to like 30 for most settings . You don't need 60-80 ( or worse 100 ) OLED lighting. Unless you are watching 4k stuff and even then about 60 is good enough .

I prefer expert dark mode ( with OLED turned down to 30 not 60 ) and I also prefer warm white 1 vs 2 ( it's just whiter , no idea why most recommend 2 )

Not sure if I need to start new thread about using the Oled tv.
Update, no physical damage to the 65 - C9 oled.
I don't have anything hooked out, not even the antenna so I have is a plug into the outlet for powering the tv.

The picture setting for "black level" is gray out at "auto " I can't seem to change it at all. Also, I it is at Standard and grayed out. I cannot change to any aspect ratio.

Is it best I reset to the factory setting and try again?
If I do factory setting, will I lose my amazon and Hulu live tv login informaton

BTW, going to have to have another streaming tv as Hulu constantly have the logo on upper right or left hand corner regardless of station. For example, HGTV, flip or flop, US tennis ...Is youtube live tv better?

Did you mean I don't have anything hooked UP, not even the antenna so I have is a plug into the outlet for powering the tv.

If so, why the hell not???

As far as all the other settings you mention, it all depends on your eyes.

What looks good for me, may not look good for you or a friend you have over to watch something.

This is like having a debate about a pair of shoes that you've been trying to decide if you should single knot or double knot the laces when you wear them...but you haven't even put them on yet!!!

I think the question was why the settings can't be changed, not what settings look the best.

My guess is it has something to do with no input source being connected.

It could also be that selecting some options will disable other options.

My inference was probably to subtle, I'm glad you highlighted the real question.
