The reviews on the Austin XL are quite concerning. Can anyone who owns one speak to their experience?

I shoulda bought when Lowes had the Pitboss for $200 earlier this year. My Master-built electric smoker just started messing up last month where it doesn't burn the chips enough to produce smoke anymore. Gonna hold off in hopes the price goes lower.
Your heating rod might need to be replaced if its the same setup as a Traeger. You can test your rod by sticking a thermometer in it... Google what temperature its supposed to get to ignite the pellets.

Picked up the Classic 700 for $250 a month ago. Really like this grill/smoker so far!

Must be a coastal thing; everything within a hundred miles is still full price here.

Anyone know what size vehicle I'd need for the 1000 Sq ft? Wondering if I could get it in the back of a QX60

One of the Walmarts in my area is showing inventory and wanted one of these smokers for a while.

I have never had any luck getting a manager to PM another store regarding this type of stuff. For those who have had success, can you give us some pointers?

It's heavy, 200+ lbs. You need 5+ feet in length

Oh wow. Did not realize how big it was. I think I may be able to swing it with my seats folded down. Hopefully someone there would help me get it in to my car (if BS is accurate).

Thanks

This is prob the wrong place for this, but...
Are pellet smokers/grills any healthier than charcoal or gas?
Natural wood pellets so I would say yes.

Pitboss makes a great product, but the company and after purchase support is complete garbage. So dont ever count on their warranty service and customer support to be useful, their normal response time is minimum 5 business days!

I have the pitboss pellet smoker and it one of the best grills I ever used.
What I hear on Pit Boss forums is that their Facebook customer service response is a LOT faster in the busy season compared to their email or phone response.

Look out for the pellets clearance as well. A couple years ago, I picked up the 40 pounds bag for 2 to 3 dollars each. I see that the 40 pounds started the clearance. In my area they are $11

I have a Louisiana Kamado I got from Costco, same Company as Pit Boss, and have had amazing customer service. I 100% agree facebook is the best way to get ahold of them. I had damaged parts and they sent out replacements with second day air without any questions.

I've read that you can buy the Masterbuilt cold smoker attachment and feed that smoke through the wood chip chamber of your electric smoker. As long as the heating element still works, the cold smoker should provide enough smoke. I don't have either so I can't confirm. Just something I came across. Might be worth looking into.
