Texas Instruments monopoly means 20 year old technology for $100 or more
In 2000 dollars this would be 40, so much cheaper now.

But dont forget glued ribbon cable that after a few years fails. Or the power input pad from battery springs wearing off the printed contact... are you a TI sales/employee because sure as heck sounding fishy or uninformed
Heck no, I am recommending buying them from Craigslist rather than retail. Doubt a TI rep would do that.

I have never bought one of these new and never had a used one fail on me. I just have a bunch of children, in or entering high school.

Forgive my ignorance, why is this still a thing? Shouldn't everyone needing a TI calculator having a smart phone with an app doing the same for less?

These are like expensive college text books...

But somehow TI has figured out how to keep making the same one repeatedly without a cheap chinease knock off coping them.

Amazed there isn't a $10 "Xetas Chinstruments" version of these calculators by now...

I remember impressing everyone with Super Mario Bros on my TI-89! Plus that was the first calculator that you could type an equation in and have it solve for x.

Hp 48gx still rocks
I bought one using my employee discount, as I suspected calculators would become obsolete after smartphones began to be more affordable.

Still going strong for me.

How does this compare to a TI-89, that I've had since 2007?
