Wont matter what you pump it with, you will be on the floor in a few hours. Intex is garbage.

Having used inflatables for years, hunting and car camping, I don't regret buying a couple of foam tri-fold mattresses. They are way more comfortable, don't get cold when it's chilly, only take a minute to set up, and don't go flat in the middle of the night. Only down sides are the cost ($80ish each), but they last forever, and they are quite bulky to transport. They also make comfy floor chairs.

Invest this $31 in something that will last. Value is the slickest deal.

Recent reviews suggest the quality has taken a nose dive.

Anyone who has experience with these built-in-pump mattresses... can you use a portable pump as an alternative? I want to take this camping but don't have a power source for the built in pump.

EDIT: I've just found it in the description on Amazon, it can also be filled with a manual pump 👍

Yes this can also be manually inflated with a hand pump!

Quality of air mattresses is never particularly good.

I installed the Amazon Assistant and searched for this item from within the extension.
But I do not see the 5$ off discount, and the coupon code you mentioned doesn't see to apply to this item.

What could I do differently to get the discount?

There is a reason stores don't accept returns on air mattresses because they fail too often and quality is hard to maintain. I have had my share of finding myself on the floor in the morning and I am only 150 pounds. Don't expect any quality from intex

It's unlikely an air mattress is going to fail within retail store return period.

The reason why they don't accept returns is to stop people from using it for a couple nights and getting a refund. Stores also usually allow exchanges.
