Reviews on the 3AH link seem to reveal these are Chinese knockoffs. Ended up buying the 4AH. No mention of lower quality and more reviews. If they are junk I'll just send them back.

Pretty great deal though if they are OEM.

Edit - Just got mine today. Seem to be totally legit. Haven't tested the Amperage but they are identical to my OEM 4AH's.

On the deal for the 5AH 2-pack a couple of weeks ago there were comments that the 5AH are often available for ~$50ea in the 2-pack. I haven't seen this particular deal, but unless that was misinformation I'll wait~

The seller claims to be a Makita Authorized Dealer. I bought the 4AH pack, so we'll find out.

One neg review said the product doesn't look like what's pictured. Well, that's an easy return if it turns out to be true. I will also test the Ah and post it here since one neg review also said the 3 Ah is more like a 0.5 Ah ... I ordered the 4 Ah so will only have info for that.

I looked them up and they are listed on Makita's authorized dealer list. I first googled the company name with the phone number listed on the ebay listing leading me to this website [hardwaresales.net]. I then used the zip code 98225 to look up authorized dealers on Makita's site [makitatools.com]. They seem legit enough to me, the question is whether the eBay seller is the same company or fake. Given the number of feedbacks and their rating they might be the same authorized dealer.

Did anyone get theirs yet? Are the 4.0Ah Genuine Makita?

I've purchased a couple of bare tools from this seller. No problems, brand new as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to buy batteries from them.

That said, I've seen the 5.0ah 2-packs for <$100.00 a few different times. The last time was probably 6 months ago, so who knows if it's ever coming back.

My order arrived today. Charged both 4 Ah and tested over 18V. Also the 4 Ah is correct. The person that said it was 0.5 could have been testing it as AC instead of DC ... or it could have been defective.

Do these work with the subcompact 18V tools? I'd assume so?
