I'm holding out for a deal with an IPS screen, but I haven't seen a 17" screen for < $400 since I started looking for a laptop two weeks ago, and I wouldn't expect to find a 17" IPS screen for <$400.

17.3" screens are not offered with 1366 x 768 resolution. This likely has a 1600 x 900 resolution, which isn't great but it's acceptable.

I thought it was a decent deal for a 17" laptop, regardless of the TN screen. I have been looking for the best laptop to buy with the very limited budget I have for over a week, day and night, and I came across no other 17" screens for anywhere near this price. C'est la vie. I ended up buying an Acer Aspire 5, which I'll describe in my last deal post here, before I go back to the reality of writing books instead of shopping for laptops lol
