Keep in mind that SSHD [wikipedia.org] is an acronym for solid state hybrid drive—an HDD/SSD combo.

From back2gaming.com review:
"SSHD or solid-state hybrid drive employs a technology wherein the traditional hard drive is equipped with NAND Flash SSD storage which is used as a cache by the drive. In Seagate's FireCude line-up, the new FireCuda ST2000LX001 is supported by 8GB of NAND flash storage which is quite diminutive compared to the desktop variants. While the NAND or SSD portion of the drive isn't directly accessible to the user, Seagate does the hard work using the Adaptive Memory technology which automatically figures out which files are accessed the most so they're automatically stored to the NAND storage for quicker access".

Good deal. I wish there were more options for regular 2.5" 2TB HDDs at this price range.

Hmm I wonder if I should swap my old Barracuda drive for this gaming one in my PS4.

These SSHD drives don't last long. I have had a few and I will never buy another one.

really? why is that? Is it something inherent to the type of drive?

It's a good idea to download a tool called SeaTools to check the drive.

I have one that shows 7677 Power-On hours that crashed two days ago (Windows 7 system disk). I needed to use the backup system image to restore the disk and did boot-time disk checks (chkdsk) to restore the the disk.

I'll be replacing it with a 1TB SSD soon.

My pair of ST750LX003 have run very well for years. I'm hoping this isn't any less reliable, though I won't be storing irreplaceable data on it. The idea is to turn a PS3 into an offline media player for my parents RV.
