Hmmm so this goes front page but when you mention MD2D on other digital threads (as in getting a $5 or more movie for $2) you get attacked for daring to suggest it. Can you say double standard?

And why was the original post about this deleted by SD but this one is perfectly fine?

"Deal Alert: John Wick 3 Vudu Disc to Digital $2 for digital copy movie" Again, double standard. Its not what you know, its who you know.
Yeah, but the bragging is so blatant now just like with thieves and their eventual capture from their boasting. I found out about JW3 last night but just surfing general movie Tweets. You know Vudu searches mentions of their name in Tweets, right?

When this becomes mainstream, it's over. Just like all the movie download sites including a few on Reddit. That's why we can't have nice things. Frown

Hmmm so this goes front page
Hi bru20 Smilie Just a heads up that this thread is currently not and never was a Front Page deal. It was/is only ever under the 'Popular Deals' section.
However, you may be seeing it on what's called your own 'Personalized' Front Page as result of user-controlled account settings.
As you post many movie/TV show deals yourself, I am wondering if you may have the 'Entertainment' deal category set to 'Like' under your personal recommendations setting. If so, this will integrate Popular Deals under the Entertainment category in with actual Front Page deals on your personalized Front Page.

Please try toggling your setting using the instructions here (it's quick & easy), and let us know if it removes this thread from your personalized Front Page (it should). There's also a good follow up post here as well. Note, that this only affects what you will see on your personalized Front Page. You had not expressed such concerns in a prior D2D thread from a different member in February with more votes here (also in the Popular Deals section), so just hoping to see if we can narrow down if the personalized settings may be the issue.

In general, VUDU D2D threads are perfectly fine and permitted on SD (examples linked below).
The particular thread you mention was active for a full 27 minutes before the OP had been edited providing a direct link to the exact means to exploit it. That post had even been Mod Alerted twice before that by other members; but no rules had been broken at the time, so it was allowed to stand just fine (until the moment when a rule was undeniably broken and we needed to take the appropriate action). Hope this helps clear up any concerns. Thanks Smilie

This probably isn't the popular opinion on this, but I would caution doing MD2D on the unreleased physical titles (John Wick 3, Anna, etc) until their street date release. It would be really easy for Vudu/Walmart to track anyone who violated their ToS by just looking for accounts that added unreleased physical releases.

I'm all for getting a good deal just like the rest of us, but it isn't worth putting your potential entire movie library at risk if you can wait a few days for them to officially be released.
Totally agree.

Also, you will get people that are not the sharpest knives in the draw that will call Vudu support because they can't check-out due to the rental credit OR they MD2D'd Anna and can't find it because its in the Pre-order section. This behavior will lead Vudu to end this program.

I mod alerted it and hopefully, more will continue/going forth . I asked that it be edited, first but no edit, was done. We don't post direct links to exploit a system or defraud, per se. That's a no-no. Cheating is not allowed in SD...mentioning d2d is different then going straight to a way to not own the product w the UPC, attached.

Don't be the person to not understand why not. We want to keep vudu and utilize it's service. Fellow posters should be Ok to help each other w/O it being seen as picking on anyone.

Avoid posting names of sites that show barcodes, simple.

The two unreleased titles have been removed. No doubt due to all the people who called Vudu about it. And of course posting it here had nothing to do with it.

In all fairness, I don't understand why brand new movies should be included anyway.
I'm no business executive, but I can easily see that some party/parties are not getting their fair share of royalties if a brand new movie is being sold for $2 under the d2d program.
It's an invitation for fraud, and a loss of revenue for the parties involved (except maybe Vudu). It just doesn't belong.
