These go on sale from time to time. Best thermos mug I've used (holds both cold and hot water for a very long time).

I got it last time for $16. I have bought at least 5 or 6 of these when ever the prices goes under $18. It is sleeker than the bulkier thermos.

Great thermos, I bought it during a flash sale. Biggest issue is the paint will eventually peel off, especially if you clean it in the dishwasher.
I purchased this a few months back and I remember the having additional documentation staring not to put it in a dishwasher.

I believe they must have added it recently.

In any case this is a good deal. I was able to get 20 oz for this price from target.

I brewed coffee into this thermos and left the lid off. It still took an hour to cool down to a drinkable temperature. I did not even preheat the thermos.

I do have 2 of these thermos and i just want to let the potential buyers of this:

I've used it for about 2 months and gave up on continuing to use this.
The mouth piece consist of 3 different pieces that are extremely hard to clean.
Unless the only thing you are drinking out of the thermos is water, it will get dirty especially coffee.
It will hold the temperature for a really great time but cleaning it daily by removing all three pieces and scrubbing it takes way too much time and effort for a simple item that's intent is to hold a drink.

i since then switched to hydro flask with a standard screw top. Although its not one-touch open like the zojirushi thermos, not having to take apart the whole mouth piece and scrubbing the tiny space between the rubber gasket and also the part that holds the rubber gasket is far more convenient for me (also temperature hold is about the same as zojirushi).

just fyi. its still a nice quality thermos.

This thing does an amazing job keeping things hot or cold. I bought one a few months back and haven't used it much because it's slightly awkward to drink directly out of AND the cap feels flimsy. I probably wouldn't buy again if I had the choice for what I wanted to use it for.

This is a great deal. I bought the exact same model when I was in Korea and they sell it for ~$80. Keeps my iced coffee cold all day. Love it

I have two of these in the same color (fourth zojirushi in all). Lately only this color has been on sale Frown.

One problem I have is that internal rubber seal is not that great. One of my mugs has a problem where, when drinking, a drop of the beverage will escape from under the cap. And inadvertently drop on my shirt. Since both of mine are the same color, I always have to take care to check which one has this issue. I use that one with a paper napkin wrapped around the mug. My 'good' one is starting to develop the same issue but I just have to remember to tighten the lid well enough. Not sure if I got a bad batch but something to look out for.

My older ones - one was a steel one and another was a non-stick one (both were different model numbers than the one here) never had this issue despite years of use.

Another thing I observed is that the non-stick one was easier to maintain (though I know some folks don't prefer non-stick). For the ones with steel internally, you can't afford to forget coffee in it. If you do that, it'll stain from inside. And the discoloration won't go away (tried removing with vinegar as well). Not a huge issue but something to keep in mind. The non-stick one doesn't have this same issue. Health concerns of non-stick aside, that's a difference potential buyers should be aware of. BTW, all mugs with internal stainless steel have this issue - not just zojirushi.

Of the two older ones - one was so badly discolored that I eventually threw it away. It was my fault. Didn't take care of it. Now I know better. The other one's cap fell to the bottom of the dishwasher and melted on the heating coil. Of the two new ones, one of them is discolored again but not bad enough to throw it away. Guess I didn't learn my lesson Smilie.

In any case, these mugs are miles ahead anything else in the market. I'm a customer for life. Just hoping the next ones I buy have a better seal.

This past winter when it was -2 degrees outside, I forgot this thermos in my car. Came back to it after work (8 hrs later) and my coffee was still warm! Best damn thermos on the planet!

Who the F needs to be told to be careful when taking their initial sip of a hot beverage?

The non-stick interior also has discoloration from coffee. I have been using mine for about 4 years now and it is stained inside, i'm fine with it. The rubber seals are all stained too but I do a thorough clean soaked in baking soda once a month. Daily clean for me only involves rinsing it without actually scrubbing it (Is this disgusting? I dunno, i dont care). No drip/drops for me ever. I've dropped my mug onto hard floors about 3 times, dented, scratched, but still works great. I currently have a 20oz but I want to grab this 16oz to make it easier to sit in my car. The 20oz is too tall.

The best mug I have owned. I actually have 2 of these and 1 tiger brand. The zojirushi is absolutely the best, it will keep your drinks cold for about 20-24hrs, not kidding. And like what others have said, it keeps coffee so hot you want to be careful not to get burned.

If this is the one that doesn't have the glossy outer finish, then it will peel and look hideous. Who the F uses plastidip coating on a beverage bottle that is likely going to get heavy use? I contacted Zojirushi about this, but they refused to replace the peeling bottle with a glossy finish one, citing the "dishwasher warning" which wasn't there when I bought it 2 years ago. Great bottle otherwise, but the company doesn't own up to its defect (switch to glossy is tacitly acknowledging it) is one that doesn't stand behind its product.

y'all gotta stop putting nice products like this in the dishwasher, should be easy enough to just quickly handwash it! Dishwasher is a great way to cause peeling on coated exteriors, and great ways to slowly deteriorate rubber washers. Glad they have the dishwasher warning on the product now, but still... everyone just throws everything in the dishwasher without thinking how damaging that machine can be.

Well insulated thermos, will keep your coffee/drinks hot/cold.

But can be hard to clean if you leave drinks overnight. The rubber insulation will retain coffee odor and get moldy because of the differently parts and crevices.
