These go on sale from time to time. Best thermos mug I've used (holds both cold and hot water for a very long time).

not able to get the extra $5 off using amazon assistant
Be sure to search for it on Amazon assistant, add mug to cart, enter k86phwot at checkout to get the $5.00 extra discount. Mine actually came off automatically without having to enter the code, and ended up $15.71 (before tax).

Got one for my SO last Christmas. He says it's too good so he doesn't like it. Be careful not to burn your yourself hours after because it'll still be piping hot. Good price, I got it for a little bit more last time.

Agreed! Such an interesting issue to have lol but awesome indeed.

For me, I've got two strategies:

For drinking right away: add 3 regular sized ice cubes
For drinking later in the day: close immediately (I brew both of my zoji's at 6am before I head to work) and by TWO PM (!!) it's still piping hot, so unscrew lid and let sit for about 5 minutes, then it's perfect hot drinking temp

If anyone is interested in DURABILITY, I literally dropped my zoji (this exact one) down between my staircase, down onto the bottom floor of my house, after it bounced off of a chair. Smallest dent i've ever seen for a drop like that. love it.

$2 is 10%, but in all honesty, waiting weeks or even months for another deal on Zoji's to save 2 bucks is a strange tactic.

It's dish washer washable. I put it in sometimes. It comes out very clean.

Always get the stainless steel inner over the nonstick.

I do have 2 of these thermos and i just want to let the potential buyers of this:

I've used it for about 2 months and gave up on continuing to use this.
The mouth piece consist of 3 different pieces that are extremely hard to clean.
Unless the only thing you are drinking out of the thermos is water, it will get dirty especially coffee.
It will hold the temperature for a really great time but cleaning it daily by removing all three pieces and scrubbing it takes way too much time and effort for a simple item that's intent is to hold a drink.

i since then switched to hydro flask with a standard screw top. Although its not one-touch open like the zojirushi thermos, not having to take apart the whole mouth piece and scrubbing the tiny space between the rubber gasket and also the part that holds the rubber gasket is far more convenient for me (also temperature hold is about the same as zojirushi).

just fyi. its still a nice quality thermos.
Funny, I also have a Zojirushi mug and Hydroflask and I'm the complete opposite. I don't find it difficult to clean at all. But more importantly I hate the Hydroflask unscrew lid. Makes it impossible to drink while driving and is a pain in the butt to unscrew/screw every time I want a drink. Also I find the Hydroflask loses the temperature 2-3x faster and after a few hours my drink is too cool for my liking. I think it's because the heat dissipates from the big plastic lid. I do like the Hydroflask colors better though.

I bought a 20oz off here 3 years ago. Still haven't used it. Its a nice design, and I always end up taking a crappy Hydro Flask since I beat stuff up

Ok for a Zo, poor for a thermos bottle.

Eg. https://www.hmart.com/84603402454
$16.99 regularly, cheaper on sale.

I got one of these and the Zo. Both perform well. Both made in China. Knowing the deals, I'd never buy a Zo or Tiger again given that the no-brands are more than 1/2 cheaper on sale and perform similarly.

This sort of "tech" matured decades ago when schoolkids were using glass lined, authentic thermos brand bottles in their steel lunchboxes.

""Worst" Performing Water Bottle: Hydro Flask"
https://slickdeals.net/article/news/insulated-water-bottle-test/

Did you guys read the SD comparison article first?

Keep in mind most of these are informal, not scientific, so performance will vary.
Ie. Nobody temperature controls the bottles to the same before pouring in liquids.
Even screw on vs flip open caps can change the performance a lot.

Anyways, silver lined glass vacuum bottles let even less heat out vs metal.

https://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/22/business/modern-problems-spur-changes-at-thermos.html

As a result, even Stanley has had to re-engineer the metal ones for better performance.

these things are annoyingly good at keeping your drinks hot.

I bought the gold one and wish I would have gone for Cobalt or Red. I recommend you buy a good bottle brush to clean the little guy. I bought mine in a 2 pack at Costco and it even came with a smaller brush for cleaning straws or small openings that this device has.
