FYI.

This laptop is listed on Amazon as a 14" in the title description. However, if you scroll down, you will see that it is described as 13.3". The BH website lists this as Manufacturer No. NX.H3ZAA.001. The Amazon website lists this as Model No. SF313-51-57EQ. The Acer.com website [acer.com] matches both of these numbers up to the same identical product.

Other than non upgradeable RAM, this looks to be a solid deal!

I'm looking for a computer that can handle image processing, though the majority of my work is internet browsing and using wordpress. Honestly, my 3 year old Acer Chromebook is solid and almost sufficient enough for processing images but it's a slow process.

Thoughts on how this would handle? I'm looking at running Lightroom and Adobe Bridge. If anyone has other suggestions in this price range, I'd love to hear them. The reason I'd like to stick in this price range is that I travel and laptops are prone to theft. Thanks!

Not a good choice for image processing.

Hmm, it says on bhphoto that max ram is 8GB so not expanable? that is kinda a deal breaker

on the other hand, the usb type c does have displayport function if not full thunderbolt support for things like charging, etc?

Too bad ram is not expandable because this thing has a lot going for it like long battery life small size and support for 4K 60hz DP output.

How is the build quality on these?
I have one, had to send it in within 1-2 months of ownership for free repair after my unit kept freezing from light keyboard touches. The keyboard also flexes a lot, the aluminum frame is very soft so I have a dent on it. The screen is also quite dim, so not suitable for anywhere besides indoors.

Other than that, it's been solid and I only use it a few times a week. If you can afford it and it's your primary device, I would shell out for a better chassis.

No. You need a GeForce RTX1080 to run minesweeper at 720p

If you don't care about portability, sure. Smaller/thinner machines always carry a price premium over full sized systems.

At this price, this is going to be best bet. 8GB ram, decent display and nice built. I've previous model and 2 years, it is going great. Very sturdy and solid built. Looks almost like a premium machine.

USB 3.1 Type-C s the newest standard and when fully implemented, it can provide Data (like a normal USB 3.0 port), Display Output using DisplayPort Alt mode (4k 60 Hz) and charging (100W Power Delivery at max, Type-C Power Delivery) simultaneously. That's why all the new thin and light laptops uses this port as they don't have enough space to accommodate Individual legacy ports . People can carry a single Type-C high capacity charger like a 45W or 65W to charge their Cell phones as well as the Laptop. Also, using cheap Type-C Hub, people can display output, USB 3,0 Data ports and charging the Laptop at the same time.
However, most of the budget Laptops don't implement it properly and in most cases it is just a Data port with Type-C interface. This Laptop supports Data and Display output but does not support Power Delivery and hence cannot be charged using a Type-C Charger.
