FYI.

This laptop is listed on Amazon as a 14" in the title description. However, if you scroll down, you will see that it is described as 13.3". The BH website lists this as Manufacturer No. NX.H3ZAA.001. The Amazon website lists this as Model No. SF313-51-57EQ. The Acer.com website [acer.com] matches both of these numbers up to the same identical product.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP

I bought it for my parents, they use it for basic tasks like banking, facebook, and creative writing. I thought it would be decent laptop for them considering the price and specs. After 1 month of use it refused to boot. I looked every where online and found that this is a common issue. Most suggested to try a "battery disconnect" by using the pin to press and hold a button on the bottom. No luck, it just won't boot. No LED indicators, no screen, nothing!
It should be under warranty. Did you contact Acer?

B&H has payboo card with cash back equal to the state tax.
I just read about it. They pay the tax back? That is strange. I wonder how they can afford to do that. I do not really get it. Maybe i will try it, I still favor adorama though.

Same Processor, entry level dedicated Graphics, Ram upgradable to 32GB. Also, it is pretty light and comes in 14" form factor, neither small nor too big like a 15.6". The display quality is pretty good, almost 100% sRGB and over 70% Adobe RGB.
A couple things.. looks like the ram is upgradable but difficult to get to for a novice like myself? Also, if I were going to jump in price this much, is there something that would be suitable for basic video editing? I don't do it now but may want to in the future.

Thanks for all your help. While my budget can be high, I was hoping I could find something a little less expensive since my $200 3 year old chromebook is almost good enough for my tasks. I currently use Polarr to edit my photos on the chromebook and the only thing that is lacking is a media organization program, like Adobe Bridge.

I'm looking for a computer that can handle image processing, though the majority of my work is internet browsing and using wordpress. Honestly, my 3 year old Acer Chromebook is solid and almost sufficient enough for processing images but it's a slow process.

Thoughts on how this would handle? I'm looking at running Lightroom and Adobe Bridge. If anyone has other suggestions in this price range, I'd love to hear them. The reason I'd like to stick in this price range is that I travel and laptops are prone to theft. Thanks!
It'll definitely run lightroom fine. I run it on a shit $300 laptop from 4 years ago. LR isn't a huge resource hog. It does have a IPS monitor which I would highly recommend. I don't want touchscreen either for lightroom, but it's just a tad too small for me.

Thanks for the reply. While I can afford an expensive laptop I'd rather not take one traveling with me. Is there something you recommend in a lower price point with an IPS monitor?

EDIT: Ugh I'm getting things mixed up again. I was thinking you were referring to the more expensive machine someone recommended. What do you think about not having a dedicated graphics card? Honestly I don't need anything fancy, my chromebook is almost sufficient.

The 8250U's iGPU offers tolerable performance in photo and video apps. I mostly need Handbrake, Resolve, OBS, Express, Krita, etc. From my time with this CPU, video encoding is quick via H264 QS- while it really drags with H265 QS. Resolve performs poorly when effects are enabled, and this is extended to other video editors I've tried.

For vlogging integrated graphics are junk, which is why I'm waiting for a gaming laptop to go on sale. However, it's rare to see laptops with 100% sRGB and bright panels like my current 2-in-1. So it might be a while before an upgrade is feasible...

Received my laptop. Everything seems great so far except the touchpad keeps intermittently freezing, drivers are up to date as available on the Acer site. Anyone else having this problem?

update: no more touchpad freezing. I suspect my laptop was lagging as it was going through all the updates, now no more issues.
