CEO of rubber washer company: We need to boost revenue!

Marketing team: Let's rebrand our 10 cent washers "wedding bands" and mark them up ridiculous amounts.

CEO: BRILLIANT!

Nothing says love like an $8 wedding ring
A lot of construction workers, electricians, mechanics, etc. wear these so they don't damage a real wedding band. It's not an alternative to a traditional band but rather a supplement.

Not to say $8 is a good price when silicone spatulas cost like $5 and use much more silicone

These are actually great for the hard working/active type that gets their hands in situations. Look at Jimmy Fallon. That happened in just a normal situation. You don't want you finger getting ripped off accidentally while being on the roof, hiking, camping, climbing, etc. There's countless horror stories from just slipping and your ring getting caught. Thumbs up.

I have a rubber ring that I use as my regular ring. I work in a warehouse with machinery and don't want to get my finger taken off. Plus the rubber to me is more comfortable than a metal ring for me.

My wife and I both have qalo rings and LOVE them. For example :

Great on our honeymoon when being active at the pool or roller coasters where you don't want to risk damage or loss.

Great at the gym to avoid metal on metal scratching of traditional rings and more comfortable in this scenario. Also, as indicated by others, notifies that you're taken.

Finally, I often work in a lab with chemicals, including some that are designed to etch metals or otherwise corrosive. Granted I don't intend to get these on my bare hands, but I don't want to risk my good ring on such days.

How about just don't wear a ring? I am happily married for over 20 years, both me and my wife don't wear wedding rings.
I agree with you. I bought my wife a nice engagement ring but the wedding band didn't add much but a big cost. The jewelry store wanted $350 for the ring I picked out for myself. I found a near exact match on Amazon for $9 flash sale. It even came in a much fancier box than the jeweler had. I am a builder and do not wear it to work because I have heard of injuries due to snagging. Everyone should make the decision on their own and not not let sales people or society dictate what you should have.
