OMG , I have 2 of these as they are the ONLY zigbee fan light controllers made IIRC.
they are made poorly and constantly disconnect, both under hubitat and smartthings. The solution to the disconnects is to have a zigbee repeater ABOVE the fan blades, ideally in a room above the fan. It still disconnects but not nearly as bad. The included remote is also poor. I bought 2 knowing the problems because this is the only game in town

Been doing the whole home automation thing since buying back in August. Couldn't find a good fan controller that was inexpensive, but went with a wifi option I found on Amazon. Been very happy with them so far. Here's a link to the ones I got

this is a bad investment. If you already have a fan with an IR remote go and get yourself a BOND device. I've had one for about a year and it's solid. Has a few neat features as well besides ceiling fans and works with google and alexa.

Yes, this. I have zwave fan switches for every single fan in my house, except my big living room fan. For some reason, the zwave switch couldn't set a medium speed on my fan.

After dealing with that for a while, I finally just installed a generic universal remote on the fan and bought a Bond hub. Works flawlessly in the app and via Alexa.

Agree Bond is the way to go if you already have remote controlled fans. But I didn't, so factoring in the cost of remote modules for the fans, the path I chose was more economical.

How complicated was the install and how do I tell if my fan is going to have enough space to hide the receiver? I'm reading some folks mounted the receiver in the light switch box?

Install was extremely easy. The receiver fit in the fan housing. It was a little snug, but not bad. Total of 5 wires to connect and it does require a neutral.

Decided to try one, but cut out the middleman and save $5 on each one. Sure it will be a counterfeit coming from the QIACHIP official store.EEK!
