You can find this on eBay for slightly less. Got this for $75 from a Singaporean site a year back but it's obviously hard to find now. It's a beautiful watch but the bracelet is really cheap. changed mine to leather in a heartbeat
I thought an that. What are import taxes like on a watch like this from Singapore?

Great find. Costs less, and good way to avoid jomashop, which is wise.
I agree completely about avoiding jomashop. Awful merchant

I used the promo code SDFLASH5 to get an extra $5, help negate the shipping cost

I don't remember the details of my purchase to be honest. It was less than $80 to my doorstep. I only remember searching day and night for two weeks before I found stock that wasn't way over MSRP.

Entry level Seiko autos are crap with totally hit-n-miss unregulated movements.

From my own experience, for entry level, Orient/Citizen offer better movements/build than Seikos. For Seiko, once u move upto the 6R35 movements, then it's a totally different story. Their cheap auto movements for peasants. For $100, I'd rather get a solar Seiko than a cheap off the mill automatic.
You'll get a lot of slack online for putting down a Seiko 5, which I find strange. I've owned countless seikos (still have most of them), and you're right. I bought 4 samurais and only one had a properly aligned minute track. The snzh had a terribly off minute hand. My snkl was -41 seconds per day out of the box.

People will blindly praise Seiko because they are an enthusiasts brand. As much as I love my Seiko watches, I understand that buying one comes with an understanding. Their qc is known to be terrible. Just check out any of the YouTube channels. The most hardcore Seiko fans will still realize that lower end seikos (we're not talking about the presage lineup or grand Seiko here) come with the caveat of poor qc. There are endless complaints of misaligned chapter rings

This is not a men's watch.
I happen to think 38mm is the perfect size for men's dress/casual watches.
