Ah, the million dollar watch. It went up in price a lot after this article...

The Hodinkee effect. Anything they post about sells out so fast. Nice to read coverage but makes things unnecessarily rare and more expensive than they're worth.

Yeah... Don't expect that if you venture into the mechanical realm lol. A cheap Timex quartz will outperform a modern Rolex in terms of time keeping
I never really change the time on my cheap citizen and it seems to hold time really well. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I would buy the J models over the over the others. Better QC. As a collector I would be willing to be more for them on the second hand mkt

When did the 5's jump up in price so much? I have a few I purchased a while ago and they were around $30 each.

And yes, these are small watches which is why I never really wear them anymore.

This is not a men's watch.
It's a watch. Does time somehow function differently on men's wrist than on women's?

"Honey, my boss's dinner party begins at 6:00 and I can't be late. That means we have to be dressed and out the door by 5:35, OK?"

In all seriousness, 38mm is a fine size for a mens watch. 30 years ago that would be considered a standard size for men. 50 years ago it would be a largish watch.

This watch uses a Seiko 7s26 movement, which claims to have 40 hr power reserve, but in reality only 20 or so. Just a heads-up.

I have noticed it requires winding after under 24 hrs of rest, and that's with moderate watch arm movement throughout the worn days. I'll have to test this out; thanks for the numbers!

Regardless of what you meant, imo must leave way before that for nearly any event that's not in the same neighborhood, and even earlier for an important event. nod

Lol at all the people talking about J being so much better than a K. FFS it's a $100 Seiko 5, nobody gives a crap where it was supposedly manufactured.
