Tetra have been in the business for a very long time. Marinas is sort of not well known
Not well known?
Marina is part of Hagen [hagen.com].
Hagen's brands are:
Aquaclear
Fluval
Marina
Habitrail
Exo Terra

Hagen & Tetra were originally German companies.
Hagen is still owned by the Hagen family and based in Canada.
Tetra is now owned by Spectrum Brands which also owns the Marineland brand.
Spectrum is best known as the maker of Spectracide!

I've used plenty of these air pumps before and for some reason they get loud after a while of using them. Which I always find funny when it happens.

I've had better luck with the Walmart branded ones staying quiet. So far the only one I've gotten is still running 4 sponge filters quietly.

I'm fairly new at aquarium ownership. Got a 10 gallon tank with a few small Glo Fish, kids love it. After the first few weeks (without air bubbles/pump) the water was getting cloudy. I got a small air pump, and it cleared up. Again, I'm a beginner, so not sure why that happened, but that's my 2 cents.
This is a killer price for name brand pump. Thanks for the post, OP.
What type of filter do you have? Does your filter creates an water fall effect that creates disturbances on the surface of the water? Oxygen is introduced in the tank by water surface disturbance. You may need to add this pump.

If anyone wants a 20 gallon with stand used aquarium with everything except fish let me know. Want to give it to someone who appreciates it. Based out of Irving
Not sure if you received my message, I'm based out of Irving and can adopt the 20G tank for my crayfish. Let me know how you want to work it out. Thanks!

Good deal but it only lasts for about a year or two before the rubber gasket goes bad. I had to replace my 10g pump twice before switching to something else. It was cheaper to get a new pump than getting the replacement part.

FYI

Non UL, meaning it is not Underwriters Laboratories approved, which are standards for cable and wiring. Low voltage items do not require UL inspection.

Not entirely true. UL is not just standard for cables and wiring, and some low voltage items do have to comply with applicable safety requirement per NEC and other regulatory body.

you probably got the answer from here https://www.chewy.com/app/product...geNumber=1

Non UL means the design and use of materials on the product have not been evaluated by an accredited NRTL to test the product to applicable safety standard. In this case UL 1018 is the Standard for Electric Aquarium Equipment.

companies like UL/ETL/TUV/CSA would have evaluated to applicable safety standard.

I have one of these for my 20 gallon tank. I don't find it loud at all. Been using it since I got my aquarium about 4 years ago. Maybe I should get one in case my 4yr old pump dies. I think I bought a separate tubing and I got a nice coral air stone.

I use this for oxygenating wort before adding the yeast. Works pretty well!
Just bought it for the same thing, been thinking about grabbing one eventually. Got the 10-20 gallon one, think that'll be big enough?

My whisper is so damn loud and vibrating, I have a rubber work out mat cutout under it and it still sounds like a refrigerator is running next to me... I need to find a quiet one...
