Was looking for a tire deal and nothing good posted. After years of AWD and All-seasons, just got a minivan with FWD so wanted to start going winter tires instead. The deal is about 33% off on most BLIZZAK WS80. All different sizes are on sale and there's a $80 MIR Mastercard Giftcard. Seems pretty slick to me considering winter is coming.

The ws90 is out this year.. typical end of life clearance to move the previous model..

Still they are pretty good winter tires..

I had a set of these and the similar dm-v2 model.

Takes as much space as a coffee table when stacked. Hope for the best for you though.

Be very careful and possibly be afraid of Tirerack specials. They clear out those tires which have been sitting on the shelves for possibly years and the rubber has become brittle. I bought 4 such tires on clearance and all of them blew up within 12 months. This was all on local roads luckily. Not normal loss of pressure over 30 minutes but loss of complete tire pressure in seconds. If one of them did that at highway speed most likely I would have lost control.

Their tire warranty process is very cumbersome. You need to take pictures of the tire damages and be ready to provide the tire for inspection and even then you get prorated amount.

Tires are the most important safety component of a car and not sure it is worth taking the chance with these Tirerack clearances.

These set of tires are very popular I doubt they sit in a warehouse for very long.

Free shipping sweetens the deal. There are tons of these in the warehouse still; its not like some low volume tire. If you get tires delivered that are more than a year old then reject them and ask for immediate replacements before installation. Its not like anyone is in a rush for snow tires yet this year.

Tire Rack currently has some tires for sale that *are* several years old. They're a reputable company, and note that these are old/end of life clearance items.
As for me I don't put a lot of miles on each year so those are a poor deal for me, but, would-be good for someone who puts on 60-80,000 each year.

Unless things have changed,
Tires have expiration dates of 6 years from the date they were made
The date tires were made are on the tires themselves, in a special code--Not difficult to decode.
Even tires on shelves can deteriorate--But suspect Tire Rack takes good care with tires in stock.

Having said al that, if i needed snow tires now, i would likely grab this deal from Tire Rack, After i verified manufacture date. I would buy a 1,2 maybe 3 old year tire at the right LOW price.
I checked CReports, This Tire and model is very good /excellent

While this may be a GOOD DEAL.... this is most likely a close out and if you get a flat tire in like a year or two or three, you may never be able to find another match. This has happened to me and I was forced to buy 4 new tires when the other three tires had at least 60% of tread left.

It seems like a great deal today... but you need to understand all the issues.

Perfect for my studio apartment. Instead of a table I can get a table of chairs

Can you drive on these during summer/fall. Would probably have them installed within a couple weeks and wouldn't anticipate snow for 2 months or so
