How does one get 15%?

This month is my first attempt at S&S. I placed orders for 6 different S&S items. It's been 24+ hours since the 6th order. The details still show a 5% discount on each. No adjustments to 15%.
I tried placing my 7th order with this. The "offer" is still showing 5% instead of 15%.
Will the final bill reflect 15%? Or will that kick in starting next month?
TIA!
im seeing the same issue on my account for this month, it is not updating my 1st 4 orders to 15%

Subscribe and Save discounts now work on based on how many of S&S items are getting delivered in a particular month, not how many of S&S you have ordered but coming in different months.

So if you are getting 5 items delivered. in a month, in that month you will get 15%. If in a month only 3 items are getting delivered based on your delivery frequency and schedule, you will only get 5% off.

I've made these other recipes many times. They are tasty, but it's not the same as the one in the OP.
Are you referring to the taste? I've tried various Tastybite products and all of them taste pretty bad unfortunately.

It took me a while to nail the recipe to get an amazing taste. I was overusing the spices. I cut it down and voila! This [youtube.com]one worked perfectly for me. The Hebbar recipe also comes out great.

I like these tastybite lentils. I'll try the YouTube recipe you posted, hopefully today. Thanks.

Edit: that's a lot of ingredients!!!

Just found out I have Celiac's, these are a life saver. Gluten free AND edible!
I eat these and have CD too. Do note that they're made in a shared facility. It is possible to get cross contaminated. That said, I live on Tasty Bite because I have to.

I add a splash of plain kefir along with basmati (and maybe some Scrappy's cardamom bitters), or as I learned from a previous SD thread, use it as a hot dog topping (with an Udi's roll).

Trader Joe's has something that looks very much like this that I've been buying. Wondering if they just rebranded from this company. It's very good, my only gripe with it is that the sodium level is high. Heart problems, have to pay more attention to that nowadays.

EDIT: Checked against the ingredients and nutrient ratings on both, definitely the same product, just re-branded. If you like the one you've been getting at Trader Joe's you should like this. FYI, it's a little more than 1/2 the price on this deal from Amazon than the pricing at TJ's.

Yes Smilie But you can substitute most of the spices that the recipe suggests (while boiling the lentils and the whole spices - cinnamon, bay leaf, cloves etc.) with Garam masala.

So, you would just need these-
  • Garam Masala (a pinch)
  • Chana Masala (0.5 tsp)
  • Salt (adjust to taste)
  • Paprika/Red Pepper powder (a pinch)

Good luck! And use very little quality. You can always add more of something later but you can't take it out later.

I get these at costco on a regular basis, they are really good on hot dogs as a substitute for chili

Sodium 21% is worth?
It's actually 42% since it's 21% per serving with 2 servings included per packet. And I doubt anyone eats just half a pack. The sodium level is unnecessarily high for a product alleged to have Indian spice. Don't need all that sodium if the other spices are good. So, is it worth it? Not to me because I watch my sodium. But if you don't mind high sodium or limit the other foods you eat in the same day then you could be fine. I'm sure it's tasty.

cooking bulks lentils/beans/rice/oats is easy and cheap however getting the seasoning or sauce right is a whole other problem

Yes, but it can be learnt. Here's one simple recipe:
  • Chop and grind online (2-small), tomatoes (4)
  • Add 2tsp oil to a hot pan. Optionally add Cumin seeds
  • Add the tomato/onion mixture, Add a pinch of garam masala & 1tsp of chana masala.
  • Cook on a slow flame till it starts leaving oil on the sides
  • Add the boiled lentils (2 cups cooked). Adjust salt and Paprika for seasoning.

Lots of Indian restaurants add heavy cream to the curries to make it slightly sweeter and the fat makes it tastier. But yes, you don't need to add dairy at all.
