I've had opposite experience as my Anker cables hardly recognize my Galaxy S8, so I have to angle it or toggle to fix. Very annoying. Aukey cables worked great for it me with no issues
I don't have an S8, but I've almost switched exclusively to Aukey and RavPower due to faulty Anker products. Anker used to be supreme, but after 3 cables frayed or failed and my battery pack died after 20 months of average usage, it's time to move on. Aukey, RavPower, and Omars are equal or greater quality at a lower price. Also better technology for the price too.

These aukey cables just don't put up to as much abuse as Anker brand. They work great at first, but then they struggle. Every Anker cable I've bought in the past several years still works. I've thrown away several Aukey cables that stopped charging or had loose connections. I recommend spending the extra couple dollars for a higher quality brand.
I have had just about every brand fail after a year or two use. I have a lot of devices and plugs in 3 cars, house, office, x 6 people and I can say these are just as good, or bad, as most any other cable in the $3-10 price range. I have yet to run onto one that stands up to kid destruction for more then a year or so. So, I say buy it and use till it dies. May as well save $

What is PD

I presume QC is quick charge?

Are most of the newer phones and accessories using USB C as the receptor port?

Is USB C compatible with any other USB formats, e.g. can I plug USB C into a micro usb port?

Potentially stupid question: does this charge a Macbook if I connect it to USB wall charger?

PD = Power Delivery. Another USB standard for helping devices negotiate charging speed. You need a USB-C to USB-C cable for that.
Yes, most newer phones use USB-C.
USB-C does not fit into micro USB.

I don't think it would do a good job at it. Most Macbooks need a higher charge than a USB-A to USB-C cable will support.

May hippocraticly purchase a pair because of the cheap price but hate rewarding companies that scrub their reviews. The 91% five stars is a big stinking load of bull shite.

Fakespot rating of "F".

"Amazon has altered, modified or removed reviews from this listing. We approximate total reviews ultered up to 782."

edit.
There are currently 746 reviews. 782 altered is very shady.

I'm with you, I think the price is reasonable but I hate encouraging shady business practices (also 99% likely this thread is a paid post)

I guess it's all anecdotal in the end but I've bought aukey cables 3+ before and Anker maybe like 6+...and overall I've had much better longevity/durability with Anker. I think only aukeys more premium line is worth it, all their cheaper ones get very loose after a couple months.

Does not make sense. Why are there USC C to lightening cables then? Answer: Because you can quick charge by plugging a USB C end of the cord into a PD charger and lightening end of the cord directly into an apple phone. And this should power delivery (PD) quick charge an Apple phone. IS THIS CORRECT????? [separately, do note that the USB C to lightening cord is not covered by the deals under this thread]
