I have a 40" 4k Samsung TV. It looks beautiful and tons of desktop space. Problem is. It's not curved. And seeing the edges easily on a 40" starts to get a slightly difficult. The best compromise I see is a 34" 3440x1440 curved monitor. Plus you get the added bonus of 100hz. And you can find them for $400 or less. I initially went with the 4k hdr 40" Samsung because it cost $260.
I actually.... talked myself into buying this deal. I have a 24" 1920x1200 BenQ from 12 years ago that won't quit. I figured my best bang for the buck productivity-wise would be to get a 27" and use both monitors until the BenQ dies. Then I can add another 27" 4k or add a 32" 4k. I realize 4k is considered overkill at 27" by the online group think, but I'm relatively young and with decent eyes it sure is pretty...

Can RX 570 graphical card hand this 4K monitor? Well, 2K is enough for 27''
I have an older version of this 27" LG 4K monitor paired with an RX 580 4GB and Ryzen 2600. For non-gaming it looks amazing at native 4k with 150% DPI scaling in Windows. Colors are excellent, contrast is not the best.

You aren't going to really do much 60FPS@4K gaming, but it still runs many games at 1440p with med/high settings pretty well. As long as the game falls within the Freesync range (45-60fps?) you won't get any tearing. While not native, 1440p still looks pretty sharp. 1080p definitely has a softer look due to poor scaling, but you can remedy this for many games using an app called "Lossless Scaling".

I played the first mission of Gears 5 last night and it looked and ran great if I set the min and max FPS target to 60. It looked a little better if I set the min to 30 but the performance drop was pretty noticeable. 1440p resolution.

I also like that with 3 inputs I can have my PC on the display port, work laptop on one HDMI, and my PS4 Pro on the other and switch as needed. The Pro looks great on this despite no HDR support. Great colors for sure.

I've nearly bought a secondary 120-144hz monitor on several occasions for that super smoothness, but there aren't many titles I want to play that my 580 could push at 120fps+.

It's not overkill. You will probably want to use some sort of DPI scaling in our OS, but text is going to look super sharp. It's hard to look at a 1080p 24" monitor after getting used to 4k @ 27".

In the process of building a gaming PC, so due to this being 60HZ I should pass?
Really just depends on your budget and priorities. This is still a great monitor for gaming in general. If you only plan to use your new PC for gaming and are always going to be running games at 1080p I wouldn't recommend it, but if you also plan to use the new PC for general use, programming, a/v editing, etc then it's a great display.

I'm not sure why anyone would want a 4k 144hz monitor right now, neither graphics cards nor the interface can support that right now, and it's gonna be at least a year or two before that happens. If you're waiting for 4k 144hz you're gonna be waiting a while.
That right there I think is why I ended up playing on a consul and kind of gave up PC gaming. It just got too expensive and I'm getting old and I just want to sit down grab game pen play a game. But the situation you just described literally scares me. Being able to have all the details cranked on the latest pretty game light control at 4K with a minimum of 120 FPS... maybe three years from now. laugh out loudPeace

How does this compare to uk600 or uk650?
I believe the UK and UL versions are also brighter, 300nits vs 250nits.

Great monitor for the price... Been using it since 6 months. Better model would be the height adjustable one but it's just the stand

I have a completely different question than the discussion in this thread.

I have a mid-2014 15" MacBook Pro. Sold my Thunderbolt Display last year and am looking to get a new monitor now that I'm more planted at home. Would this monitor work fine with a thunderbolt to DisplayPort for my configuration?

Not sure if I want to get an iMac for the home or upgrade to a newer MacBook later this year (after the updates). Figured a new monitor would solve my screen needs for now.

I have a similar model from Costco, color matched MacBook Pro out of the box. Very happy about it!

I got my order yesterday. I have to say I am pleased with this monitor so far. I was debating between 32" 4k, a 3440x1400 curved ultra wide, and buying a 27" 4k to use along side my old 1920x1200 24". I can't find any dead pixels or anything. The stand could be better, but I ordered a dual monitor mount so that is not going to matter for me.

I don't play games much, so it's all about productivity for me. A benefit I didn't consider of having two distinct monitors vs ultrawide or 32" 4k is that you can just snap to fit windows to full/half/quarter screen in windows 10 in each monitor separately. Also, this is even less than half the cost of a decent 32" 4k screen.

Anyone else feel like 4k monitor deals are stagnant? I'd be all over a deal for a decent 32" 4k IPS. It seems like the options in the $600-700 dollar range are all from a few years ago and not dropping in price. I don't even play video games, just do work, so 60 Hz would be great for me. I just don't want to get a VA panel bc I read at 32" the gamma shift is too noticeable at desk range.
There's the Samsung 32 4K, not awesome color though, only 300 ish
