Found the 17.3" with the 2070 max-Q on Rakuten. Thanks OP for leading me there.

Going to cancel my Alienware m17 because the 17.3 Legion is like $130 more for a 2070 max-q over the 2060 Alienware. More ram and better product as well.

Thanks again!

144 Hz and 500 nits--displays are something that have been lacking in recent Lenovo deals.

Nice find--Thanks for posting.

Wow, was looking into the Costco Y740 for $1800 with 1tb HDD and 256gb SSD. with same memory, but RTX-2070. This appears a much better deal.

Actually, here is the same RTX-2060 with 1tb HDD and 512gb SSD. https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-LEG...89370.html

Any idea on the value of the Rakuten Points?

Yeah It Is because the difference in performance on laptops between 2060 and 2070 isn't that much really.

Thanks for the response.

As mentioned on my edited posting. How good of a value is the Rakuten Points?

I never used them but they seem decent IF you shop at Rakuten.
https://www.rakuten.com/shop/lega...er-points/

You get a year to use them and can use up to 250 bucks worth on an order. Gift cards excluded.

The difference isnt insignificant. 2070 is about 20% better. However the difference between the mobile 1660 ti and mobile 2060 is very little, about 5%. I usually recommend going for a 1660 ti or a 2070 but not a 2060 for this reason

With that said the rakuten deal is still a better value than the costco especially with the rakuten points unless you can find a y740 1660 ti for less as it is barely worse than a 2060

Edit: the current dell g5 with 1660 ti deal seems to be a really great deal.

Wow, now I'm really confused. Triton 500 with RTX 2060, Lenovo Y740 with RTX 2070 Max Q or the Dell G5 GTX 1660 TI.

This is a ~93-98% SRGB screen. So colors arn't as vibrant as Dell's 144hz variant which have near Dci-P3 coverage ~140-150% SRGB.

Other than that, mmm.. $1000 a bit steep for this. because the g5 deal is ~$770 out the door Same rakuten monopoly money situation. $1000 - $235 rakuten points

The G5 seems like the better deal. But of course, this lenovo IS BIGGER

Lenovo y740 is the higher end of laptop and more comparable to a g7.

G5 is similar to y540

Yes. Almost all metal except for two small air vents at the bottom

2070 max q is marginal better than 2060, while 2060 is 10-15% better than 1660ti, mobile vs mobile. I am not sure what your data is coming from

The 2070 in the Y740 is a Max-Q, while the 2060 is not Max-Q so it is an insignificant increase in performance over the 2060 like I said.
