I'm a doctor. Just sharing my 2 cents. I take all research data with a grain of salt, so I am not saying one way or the other, and we need to keep in mind that interventions' efficacy can differ for each individual. I just think it's inaccurate to say that there is "0" evidence. Let's be responsible for what we tell people please.

Scientific studies do show in multiple studies amongst a wide variety of subjects that doing something with your brain is shown to drastically make day to day tasks get completed when compared to lounging around and rotting.

The results speak for themselves.

So far, I've completed the download, read the ToA, and set up a username. many things I might not have completed today if it weren't for me doing something with my brain. 😂

I certainly think my candy crush techniques will 1 day save the earth. As I beat level after level with 1 move.

Not complaining that it's free but keep in mind there has been 0 scientific evidence that brain training games have any positive outcomes. They can be fun but their claims are misleading.

In this study, we found that engagement in cognitive activities pertinent to playing games was related to not only higher cognitive scores, but also greater GM volumes in areas vulnerable to AD pathology in a cohort of at-risk, middle-aged adults. These findings were not modified by known risk factors for AD, indicating that people at increased risk for AD (e.g., persons with FH of AD) may benefit from engagement in cognitively-stimulating activities just as much as their less vulnerable peers. We also found that CAS-Games was more strongly associated with our outcome measures than a composite measure of total cognitive activities (CAS-Total), suggesting that game playing might serve a unique role in the promotion of brain and cognitive health.

I think the debate has been whether "brain games" make you any smarter--specifically, does it raise your IQ? Probably not. However, being presented with challenges that you have not encountered before and solving them does add to your mental toolbox. How applicable these new tools will be to real life is debatable, of course, but you probably gain more from doing these activities than watching TV on the couch.
