You don't watch this for the story of a female who cant make up her mind if she wants to destroy the world or save it. You watch this for the special effects and epic monster battles !!!!

The monsters were cool and the movie was entertaining. Wasnt expecting Moses parting the red sea epicness or to discover the meaning of life. The battles were awesome tho. 🤷🏽

Having already seen the film, honestly this is the kind of movie I'll just search for the kaiju fight scenes on youtube when I feel like watching the action scenes (granted same holds true for the first film as well)

you gotta write good human characters to make the other parts of the story interesting

Honestly I'll sit through all the dialogue in Jurassic Park and watch the whole film through cause I do like the characters

Best monster movie in many years. Ignore the plot and the acting, the monster battles are incredible.
I didn't thumb down and I probably shouldn't go by rotten tomatoes. I usually take SD user advice over the others. Sounds a lot like Pacific Rim, it's mainly about the monsters and the dazzling action scenes that scratch that itch. I'll probably buy it just for the HDR on my TCL 6 series. And my nephew is a huge Godzilla fan. I grew up with Godzilla in the Japan.

And FandangoNOW. So four MA retailers have it at this price for 4K. Buy where it makes the most sense to you (credits, etc.)

Hint to the OP and any others posting digital deals: with MA sale titles its always a good idea to check the other retailers as there is a good chance they will all have the same price.

Links:

FandangoNOW [fandangonow.com]
iTunes [apple.com]
Vudu [vudu.com]

Agreed. Good tip to check the other streaming sites, they typically match sales. When the OP posted, only Microsoft & iTunes had the 4K version at the sale price. FandangoNOW and VUDU hadn't dropped the price yet. Would be nice if Amazon offered more 4K UHD buying options. Would rather use my no rush credits.

First: "not enough action"
Second movie: "too much action."

People just can't be happy with anything.
It's a Godzilla movie. What do you expect? I didnt go in there expecting an Oscar of performance.
Yeah it wasn't that great but it's still better than the recent crap they put out. Especially the one on Netflix
I just don't understand why people buy (let alone spend $10 on digital) movies that 'weren't that great' ?

Ughhh ...

Movie was really, really bad. I guess if all you want to watch is CGI then fine. It ranks up there with Pacific Rim and Transformers in terms of technical prowess. If you are looking for ANY, and I mean ANY semblance of a plot, look elsewhere. It is a complete and utter incoherent mess of a story. Now, I'm not some huge Godzilla fan, but I still enjoyed the first one. It was miles better than this. It is possible to write a decent story that has monsters as the star of the show.

Even the action was subpar. Everything was dark, it was always raining. Views were often obscured. And the fighting didn't have any tension. Even though there was action it was boring action.

I really wanted to like this movie but I couldn't find anything to really enjoy about it. That said, hard to argue with this deal if you want to own it. Great price.

I liked the first (2014) one, it was pragmatic--humans are ants, the military will just blow through ammo JUST to do something/anything and a bus driver hauling kids will not wait on a bridge at a roadblock while a humongous monster is bursting through. IMHO, this second one had a plot that was more of a Toho Co. Ltd homage without a man in a rubber suit stomping on cardboard buildings. C'mon, admit it, this second screamed Toho-written plot--monster from space, giant fortress flying wing jet, moth "soul essence" and an underwater Godzilla re-charge room/altar. Seriously, I was just waiting for that one Japanese bob-cut hair scientist to have a duet with her twin sister to sing a song that wakes up Mothra, son of Godzilla to pop up outta nowhere and blow smoke rings while a UFO from Planet X drops Mecha-Godzilla into the fight.

Also, since I'm going there on this topic: Godzilla will hand Kong his ass! Kong climbs skyscrapers, Godzilla uses them as "Magic Mesh" screen doors.

Last I checked, whether a movie is good or not is an opinion, not a fact. Why would anyone take a random anonymous person's opinion about a movie on a dealsite seriously? Didn't like the movie? OK. Apparently other people are not allowed to like that movie according to many of you.

First 57 seconds of this is the Trailer of the Year.

(Edit: Must have good headphones or speakers to fully appreciate)
For some reason there's a more traditional trailer tacked on afterwards.

maybe $10 isn't that much when you stay home a lot. And need to justify your $1k TV purchase. Just glanced at TCL thread at AVS forum, quote:
As for movies, I really enjoy my TCL 6 from last year, too. I just recently watched the new Godzilla in 4K HDR in it and just the visuals blew me away on it. Towards the end of the movie I blurted out "I love this tv"... Haha.

This is the main issue I have with movie/tv show deals (whether digital, physical or both). People always bring their opinions in to it and it can easily overshadow whether the deal is actually good or not. I suppose it happens to some extent on all deals but anything entertainment-y really brings out the personal opinions. I typically don't comment on the movie/tv show itself, just the deal aspect. The few times I have I have heard it, so kind of learned.

As for this one the movie does have a code and I tend to go that route rather than direct buying. But if you have credits, etc it certainly can be worth it.

not the best reviews out there.
Reviews by Godzilla fans and kaiju fans are very positive though.

I saw it twice. Monster fights are epic! Great homage and Easter eggs to old Japanese Godzilla movies too.
